Why do some Atheists say Christianity is harmful?

The thing is, im not trolling, and i wish i could somehow prove to you im sincere. Because I know lying would be a grave sin. And im sincere with my beliefs.

If not i would have to fear Gods wrath. Is it because my views are unusual nowadays? But well, most people in the past had similar views to me.

How can it be trolling to take ones faith seriously? But oh well, its a common occurence, many people think im crazy, insane, troll, stupid, whatever.

The Bible said those days will come. And one day i guess we will be brutally persecuted again. Im ready for it.

How can it be love, if God is Love and He doesnt approve of it? I would have to assume God is evil then, but i cannot assume that, it not in my power to Judge God.

Christianity has a small set of good rules that no one needs or have ever needed Christianity to figure out. The sets of rules unique to Christianity that are harmful to the physical and psychological well being of humans as individuals and in the context of societies. You brought up "purity." Purity is a lie. It is a false label. It is marketing that has been slapped onto a set of rules -- rules that they themselves create or exacerbate the problem that Christians claim to solve.

How do you know God doesn't approve of it?

It's not as if he has any representatives down here on Earth

And even if he didn't approve of it, who cares what he thinks about things that are none of his business?

Those threats about eternal damnaton.......

If thats true it would be still my fault, not Gods, again God is simply blameless, any blame will deflect from Him, hes jsut that perfect loving and AWESOME!

But of course if youre addicted to things, short term detox can make you miserable. Long term its better for me though.

But I want this life that I'm in now to be as good as possible

Therefore I think sleeping with another man would be a jolly good thing

Also, I want my life to be my life, not someone else's!

Well the catholic Church are his Represantives on Earth, so i do know. They are not made by Men.

But lets assume youre all right and this is all a sham. Whats the point of life then?

I certainly wasted thirty years of my life as a Christian and forty years believing in God. However, renouncing my belief in God and leaving Christianity was one of the best decisions I've ever made for my mental health and emotional well-being. It's only second to my decision to confront my abusive Christian mother and older brother shortly after I turned eighteen. I don't reject it. My only regret is that I didn't do this years ago and save myself years of misery.

Yeah, it's true that it is impossible to know anything about that either way. The point is to live a good life, be a decent person, and enjoy what happiness you can find. As it says in Proverbs (KJV) "Be righteous, but be not overly-righteous. For why shouldst thou destroy thyself?"

EDIT: My bad. That's in Ecclesiastes.

Whatever I want it to be

I choose to make my life a happy one that helps the welfare of others

I don't need any authority figure to tell me how to live my life
