Well, a fusion means that some ancestor had 48 chromosomes. Two pairs fused and that gives 46 chromosomes, which is what humans have now.

So that answers the 'good question' of why apes have 48 and humans have 46.
To you maybe and some others. It is speculation in any case. Therefore, it's a guess.

A set period of time. As in 'a morning and an evening'. Now why would there be mornings and evenings unless there is a sun? And would that not make the time period one revolution of the earth?

Now, one revolution is currently 24 hours, but in the past it was *less*, not more. The rotation of the Earth is slowing down, not speeding up.
Let's say that's true -- i.e., that the rotation of the earth is slowing down. So then would the rotation be 24 hours, or 24 hours plus a few minutes or so?

Have you and ppp kept up with the literature about evolution for the past 5 years, is that it?
I have actually.
It is really easy to do when you are a member of several message boards that have people stop in long enough to make a thread or two about how evolution is this or that (but not what it actually is) and then get schooled, in detail, why they are wrong.

Much likened to pretty much all of SavedByTheLord's threads here.

though to be completely honest, the members who provide specific details here on RF (@Subduction Zone ; @Polymath257 ; @TagliatelliMonster etc,) are way more polite than most the other boards I am and have been on.

Well if someone draws a picture.
Have you left reality,
It is impossible and refutes all evolution and billions of years.

Have you figured out which one of the 66 books of the Bible is the one and only book to stand the test?

It hardly answers the question as to what was the "Common Ancestor" of these organisms. What organisms were "fused" and what happened after that.
No organisms were fused. Did you really not understand what that video said?

The chromosomes fused. Not the organisms.
Furthermore, I can only guess--shall we say--that scientists would have it that somehow along the way, humans and not chimps, gorillas, and orangutans had a need :) (instead of lol) to develop reading, writing, and arithmetic somewhere along the way. :)
Yes, humans developed writing LONG after the genetic changes that lead to modern humans.

If the rotation is slowing down, the length of the day is getting longer. In the past, the day would have been shorter. Depending on when in the past, it was 23 hours or less.

A lot less, I found more than one source that said that the length of a day immediately after the collision that formed the Moon was about 6 hours and the Earth/Moon distance was one fifteenth the present distance.

The second article has the 23 hour period during the Carboniferous Period.

The one I saw talked about the Ordovician and there being about 430 days in a year.

So anyway -- although interesting, the point is also that the Bible says a day can be 1,000 years in God's eyes. Furthermore, in the creation account, the 7th day is not said to have ended.

We already discussed the conversion factor.

For 1 day = 1000 years, the conversion factor is 365000.

For 4.5 billion years = 6000 years, the conversion factor is 750000.

They are in the video. We know the places on the chromosomes where the fusion occurred down to a few base pairs.
It's a bit abstruse or complicated for me -- but even that fusion -- I can't figure how it shows (certainly not proves) that is/was the "common ancestor." Did it make for (whatever the right terminology is) humans for sure? Meantime, that fusion--do you think that it made/enabled/promoted the ability to read, write, and figure out things like quantum physics in humans while gorillas, chimps and orangutans remained the same?

To what end?
It is not like you would know if I got it right or not.
OK, that's a good one. Would YOU know if you got it right? And of course if you do let me know and I'll ask you a few questions maybe after I look at it again. Thanks.

Question: are humans the latest supposed emergence from the Unknown as of yet Common Ancestor? even if humans supposedly came (evolved) from that fusion of chromosomes somewhere along the line--somewhere in the time table?
