Listen while a MAGA preacher in Texas calls for execution of gay people.

We should ask this preacher, ?Where in the Bible does Jesus Christ Himself condemn homosexuals? The fact that nowhere in the Bible does Jesus Christ condemn homosexuality should hopefully persuade this preacher to refrain from narrating hate speech against homosexuality.
You need to understand something -- if Jesus didn't say something, then all you need is the Old Testament. The assumption is that Jesus accepts all of it ("not a tittle or a jot of the law shall pass away"), which of course he does not.

The trick is quite simple really -- don't admit you've ever heard of the NT when quoting the OT, and vice versa.

Even though it's 2022. Listen to people in the room, in Arlington TX, say "uh-huh" and "yep" and "amen."

Calling for death. So Christian.
Insistence again. I don’t heard him ID as Maga and there is no call for death of gays. Now he really does not think the city should be promoting gays and pride month, but if there is a call for violence garbeled beyond recognition.

I would never amen that.

He probably had his church come with him to hear it and support him. So it's not a surprise to hear the amens and clapping. The people filming probably came with him as well. I doubt that very many Christians today think that homosexuality should be punished under the law; not to mention the death penalty.

Many of the Old Testament laws applied strictly to the ancient nomadic tribes of Israel, they don't apply to modern day civilization/

Did you listen? He did not call for gays to be killed. He cited several reasons some religious some not why he objects to pride things being done by the city.

These are teachings I would apply the Kalama Sutta to and reject as leading to long-term harm as they preach greed, hatred, or delusion.

I think this guy is using Romans 1 as if it's saying gay people should get the death penalty when it doesn't say that.

Maybe, but it's weird how he words it with Romans 1. It can be easily construed to mean death penalty for homosexuality? What do you think?

Oversimplification: The north was settled by those folk Quakers and others who had different visions of religion. The south was settled by those who wanted to make money. Hence we have those who want to make lots of money hawking religion to people

My God, The Salem Witch Trials didn't happen in Georgia!

the OT had the death penalty for homosexual behavior and a lot of other things. He cites this, but it’s calling for the city to stop celebrating gay pride stuff. He did not call for gays to be killed.

Welcome to Crapistan USA. This bovine scatology isn't exclusive to Afghanistan or Uganda.

Jebus Price, this is the 21st century and there are infantile people who just can't 'live and let live.'

I mean, What Would Jesus Do?
Not lie about what the preacher actually said.

The south was settled by aristocrats not merchants. They were mostly Catholic. Hence names like Maryland and Virginia. And they were royalists. So they have names like Georgia after king George.

Yes they wanted money but they wanted it easy. They were not workers or merchants. They don't hawk for it. They just start a plantation and have slaves or indentured servants do the work. Essentially an extension of what was already taking place in the Spanish dominated Caribbean; with the sugar and tobacco plantations would now happen with cotton in the south. So it wasn't really what you're saying.

I've posted about what a friend said he believes
because Glenn Beck said so, ie, that the UN has
posted Agenda 21 & 30, in which it states plans
for a one world government, & the execution of
most people on the planet. I checked the UN
publications. His claimed plans aren't there.

Are the claims about this preacher the same, ie,
imagined? I'll not waste my time watching a video,
only to discover it was a waste. How is it that posters
here are hearing such vastly different things?

Why would he cite passages from the OT regarding killing of people who engage in homosexual sex?
He had limited time he laid out several religious cultural and health concerns for the life style being advocated for by the city.

I can’t speak to all the data he cited, but it was not a call to kill people.

It’s about 3 min. He’d have a heck of a case for libel if he wanted it.

Why don't they just cut the NT out of their Bibles if they aren't going to abide by it? They need to call themselves something else. It's sure not Christ-like. The crazy thing is that most Jews aren't homophobic, which is good.

Doesn't the NT also condemn homosexuals?
