The thing about the Law is that we cannot completely obey all commands and if we try to make our own righteousness by keeping the commands then we will fail.

It may say that in the new testament in one place, but in other places it tells you there are some you should obey. Then it adds laws, like not blaspheming against the holy spirit, and makes that unforgivable. Then another place, jesus says to remove an eye if it causes sin. Yet another place, it forbids 'magic.' Another place, it annuls the 'law.' What exactly is the book trying to get you to do?

I think the fact is, humans live best under the guidance of at least some regulation, and it seems best to spell out what that means. To have a religion spell it out, with no abstract haze over what is meant, and no changes of plan, and within human limit to keep what it says, might work.

Why God tried to kill Moses when a few verses prior God asked him to free the Israelites. Moses had yet to do that.

Because he didn’t circumcise his son.

“This is my covenant with you and your descendants after you, the covenant you are to keep: Every male among you shall be circumcised. You are to undergo circumcision, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and you. For the generations to come every male among you who is eight days old must be circumcised, including those born in your household or bought with money from a foreigner—those who are not your offspring. Whether born in your household or bought with your money, they must be circumcised. My covenant in your flesh is to be an everlasting covenant. Any uncircumcised male, who has not been circumcised in the flesh, will be cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant.””

Yes. It's a clever jibe because it's so irritating in its stupidity.
This reminds me of a line I've seen attributed to Rasputin (though whether it's historical is another question):

Before we can be truly forgiven, we must first truly sin.

Then we have Martin Luther::

God does not save those who are imaginary sinners. Be a sinner and sin boldly, but believe more boldly . . . It is sufficient that through the riches of the glory of God we have known the Lamb which taketh away the sins of the world. Sin would not tear us away from Him even though in a single day we commit fornication and murder a thousand and a thousand times . . . Pray boldly, for you are a very bold sinner. ("Briefwechsel," Vol. III, p. 208.)

It sounds like you were taught the wrong thing when you were a Christian.
You should read what Paul actually did say and you would not speak so badly about him.
The thing about the Law is that we cannot completely obey all commands and if we try to make our own righteousness by keeping the commands then we will fail.
We need the forgiveness that God offers through the gospel of Jesus, the gospel that Islam rejects by saying that He did not die on the cross for our sins.
Accepting the gift of forgiveness does not mean however that we are free to sin as much as we like.
You should think more carefully about the hilighted bit -- if there is a God who is making laws that He knows are impossible to keep, then that God is setting us up to fail. Think what life would be like if your government created laws it knew that NOBODY could keep entirely. You might as well start building jails and gallows -- and nothing else.

It's still weird God tried to kill him prior to having him help the Israelites.

What questions might they be that can’t be answered?

They also ask me that at the beginning, then at the end they say, you just gotta have faith.

How come Jesus said to believe in one God, but yet you worship Jesus?
Who wrote the Bible?
How com there are contradictions in the Bible when God is infallible?
How can God die?
Why do we pray to Jesus instead of God?
How come God lets you just sin and sin and you are not held accountable for it?
Why is there plagiarism in the Bible? Isaiah 37 and 2Kings 19
How can Jesus be a Christian when no one heard of that in his time?
How can the preachers keep preaching to just believe when Jesus told them to do good works and keep the commandments?
Why would God kill his son to save a creation he can just create again?
Why does the Bible say for women in church not to speak?
Why does the women have to cover their hair in the Bible and if they don't to shave them, yet Christians don't do it or believe in it?
Why did God lie and say Abraham had one son and he had two sons?
Matthew 10 : 34 Jesus came to bring sword not peace.
Luke 12 : 49-53 Jesus came to bring fire and division.
If God is such a loving God, why is he called the vengeful God and jealous God
How come the prophecy about jonah and the whale (three days and three nights) so will the son of man.... How come the days and nights don't add up to three?
Why do men think they need a God sacrifice?
Why is there sexual instances, pages upon pages in the Bible?
How can God make a book with confusion?
Why did Jesus call his own mother women! Didn't he know her? That is disrespectful.
Why does it say that God created animals before mankind then in another place mankind before animals?
How come in the translations from Greek, the same word is used for God and Satan?
God in the Bible is good and he is also has his wrath-as shown in the old testament. But Why do the Preachers always teach God is love when it isn't the case? Afterall, he did created Hellfire.
How come the Christians are taking a "dream" for their revelation in the book of revelations? Instead of God? Where does God fit into the picture? It seems the more you read the bible, it's works of man, not God...they created all the famous verses that the preachers preach John 3:16-man you can't be saved n a Christian if you don't know that verse by heart...the more they pushed that one out the more it just didn't make sense since there is also another "begotten" son in the Bible. In Psalms. 27 I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee."

See, contradiction after contradiction :)

These are just some of the questions I HAD. But I got ever single one of them answered in Islam :) If anyone wants to know the answers just ask :)

So, exactly why would I need to leave Christianity to do anything? All the “sins” I might ever commit, I could commit as a Christian. And be saved.
To be forgiven, all you have to do is be willing to forgive others. To be saved is a different matter. Because what we need to be saved from, is ourselves. That spirit within us that drives us to put ourselves above others, and to increase ourselves at their expense. We can be forgiven for it, but we can't be saved from it without true contrition, and an ongoing effort to change. And this is as true for you and I as it is for any professing religious Christian, regardless of what they are professing.

Religion is not the gateway to Christ, or 'salvation'. In this, you are correct. But the condition of your own heart and mind (spirit), is. Most Christians understand this, but some still do not. Unfortunately, you seem to be encountering the later. But don't use their foolishness to justify your own.

Not really.

In Islam, he already knows who will go astray or not. He is Allah. He created heaven and hell. He said he will test. He gave mankind the free will to choose or refuse. Why blame God for something that is your fault?

I think you ha a good point. It is sad, if Christians sin, because by what the Bible tells, people should become righteous, which means this:

He who does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever is born of God doesn't commit sin, because his seed remains in him; and he can't sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are revealed, and the children of the devil. Whoever doesn't do righteousness is not of God, neither is he who doesn't love his brother.
1 John 3:7-10

These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.
Mat. 25:46

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23

"Whoever is born of God doesn't commit sin?" This is 100% false. God's seed is not in him. Even if you mean the holy spirit, he still sins---every man sins whether they are christian jew or muslim. When I was a christian, I sinned and I didn't feel bad about it because I knew I was saved. This just goes against God to attribute something like that to him. Free gift of God was NOT FREE. you say God died and Jesus didn't say that verse.
Where are Jesus' words?

You do have a lot of questions, easily answered by the Scriptures. If you want to pick 1 go for it but too many to answer by this forum. Would be pages.
How about we go for this…
What does the Bible teach about how a person can receive Eternal Life? What are the marks that confirm that a person has in fact received Eternal Life?
What does Islam teach compared to the Bible on these 2 questions.

I remember watching a video between Jimmy Swaggart and Ahmed Deedat. He said he doesn't drink or sin because of the holy spirit guides him not to. Yet, he goes out and sleeps with a prostitute. And many like him. Then you get the Priests and the choir boys...come on...it is just plain SIN...No excuse...what did the holy spirit leave them? The holy spirit is too guide them into all truth but deserted him at the time of pleasure? no, man sins on his own and no one else is held accountable but himself.

And THAT is what we need to be saved from. It doesn't happen by magic, or by speaking "holy" religious incantations. Or by spewing religious dogma at everyone around us. It only happens by our sincerely wanting to be changed: to be healed and saved from ourselves, and by our taking action to embody that change.

Blame the victim. GOD IS OMPOTENT according to monotheists. There is NOTHING he cannot do, except overlook breaches of his laws for some reason. Is he really omnipotent then?

Why couldn't he have created humans without the ability to sin, like Himself?

There is so much contradiction in those few sentences, it is amazing. I do not need to test those I know will fail, nor those I know will pass. That's foolishness. If God knows in advance how you will choose, you do not have free will, because then you could freely change your mind, and God would have been wrong.

I get that logic and reason don't play a big role in religion, but surely there's room for a little!

Is God all powerful? Can he not forgive Satan?
How can you forgive somebody who does not repent?
Are you suggesting that a non-repentant rapist can be trusted?

That was my whole point. satan is wilful.
Any confession from satan will not be sincere.
If it was, then he would not be satan.

I reject the concepts of sin and salvation as there is nothing inherently "wrong" with us. We are animals and act accordingly, I don't care how altruistic or noble anyone thinks they are.

He could .. but He didn't .. we are not perfect.

Now, you ask why G-d didn't make us perfect gods?
Impossible. We either are perfect gods or we are not.

How can one create an infinite, omniscient god?
..makes no sense. :)

I am ever-so-often told by Christians who find out that I do not believe that a god exists, that “You are denying God because you just want to sin.” This has always struck me as a bizarre thing to say, as I cannot think of anything that a Christian would consider a sin that I would have needed to leave Christianity to do.

I mean there are lots of good Christians out there doing great things, and most of you are perfectly decent people who I would probably enjoy having as coworkers and neighbors. But seriously folks, you all sin. Every last one of you. You sin inadvertently. You sin impulsively. You sin with premeditation. You covet coworkers, neighbors, friends and random strangers. You covet their stuff and their bodies. Unless you are asexual or (possibly) greysexual, you commit adultery in your hearts, and roughly 25% of you commit adultery in your pants as a married person.

Christian employees steal quarters from their coworker’s desks to buy cokes and they steal office supplies from their employers. Christian employers don’t pay a living wage, and then call the employee lazy when they refuse to work extra hours (bearing false witness). Sometimes the employer even fires them; and while there is no ‘Thou shalt not be a jerk’ commandment, the golden rule takes a beating several times a day/

You leave your parents in nursing homes when you could move them in with you. (C’mon folks! Honor your mother and father.)

You do illegal drugs. You take the lord’s name in vain. You get divorced.

And yet, You are saved by your acceptance of Jesus Christ into your heart as your own personal Lord and Saviour. Hallelujah and Amen. Sing it, Sister!

"I've been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb,
saved and sanctified I am.
All my sins are washed away,
I've been redeemed."

“unchastity, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, licentiousness, envy, blasphemy, arrogance, folly”

So, exactly why would I need to leave Christianity to do anything? All the “sins” I might ever commit, I could commit as a Christian. And be saved.

Jesus was Jewish. Jews are known for guilt trips. The bible made you think that everyone is sinful (many ways to sin).

Once people believe that they are sinful, they feel that they need a redeemer. This converts them to Christianity and it keeps them from leaving the religion.

Couple the guilt with physical violence of the Dark Ages (torture and execution), and the Christian religion had reasons to grow.

Christians say that Jesus died for our sins. That almost sounds as though it was Jesus's idea to die. Apparently it was not. After all, Jesus asked God "why hath thou foresaken me?" So, it must have been God's idea to crucify Jesus, since God was able to stop the crucifixion. Am I to believe that all-powerful God was not powerful enough to stop a few Roman soldiers? Wasn't that the same God that created the entire universe and all of its complexity (example: life)?

What about the miracles of Jesus...curing blindness....couldn't Jesus have blinded Roman soldiers if they tried to hurt him? Where were the powers of Jesus?

Some Christians say that "why hath thou foresaken me?" is from psalm 21 (old testament), which they say was a prediction of the death of Jesus. John 20:25 is said to be a description of Jesus being nailed to a cross (before he was nailed). Some argue that Romans either tied or nailed their victims, but the bible is rather specific about nailing. Archaeological evidence of at least one person being nailed is available (scratch marks on ankle bone of someone other than Jesus).

Why would an all-powerful God require a blood sacrifice (crucifixion)? Couldn't God merely forgive sins? Are the flaws of man the flaws of his creator? Did God make us wrong?

Was the crucifixion of Jesus punishment of mankind (depriving mankind of a savior)?

When Abraham was ordered by God to kill his son, Isaac, was that a test of his loyalty (as the bible says), or morality?

Isn't it immoral to kill someone else to further our own goals of eternal bliss in heaven?

What if we want to rob a bank, shoot bank guards, to get money illegally, and that would further our goals of retiring early and moving to Tahiti? Isn't that like murdering someone else to get what we want? Should we murder our sons or murder our savior in order to get eternal bliss in heaven?
