Bigotry as practice

Hmm. So "lists" made by someone is your thesis about religion?

The list I made there was a direct response to a question you asked.

Geez, why is this so difficult?

That question was, "Can you give any evidence to the statement "For good people to do evil things, it takes religion."?

Lets see if lists make a religion bad, good, or ugly. But unlike you, lets be a bit specific and based on real research. Not a cut and paste from a man uneducated in religion or sociology.

1. 15 million people killed by Joseph Stalin. Atheist.
2. 20 Million people killed by Mao. Atheist.
3. 50 million people killed by war. 2nd world war. Secular.
4. 93% of all wars ever fought in the history of the known world, recorded were secular.
5. Democide in Romania 1948-89. Atheist.
6. 60-65k murdered by terrorists in Sri Lanka since 1983 - 2009. Leninist. Secular. Atheist.
7. Peru’s Shining Path - 60,000 dead. Atheist.
8. Bulgarian democide 48-53. 30-50 thousand killed. Atheist.
9. Polish Democide - 30000 killed.
10. Sino vietnam war. 30000 killed. Since, atheist.
11. Check democide. 13k to 60k killed. Atheist.

No idea why you've posted this irrelevant list rather than responding to my list which was a direct response to a question you asked.

You didn't respond to the other thing I said in that post either.
Why do you think quoting a person means you “worship that person or think of him as a prophet.” ??

Have you looked at the evidence yourself? The evidence is His verses in part. You need a spiritual susceptibility to recognize Him through His verses, if not, you're out of luck.
As we both already know, God determines who will recognize His Messengers. It is all there in the Writings.

“Be thankful to God for having enabled you to recognise His Cause.”
The Dawn-Breakers: Nabíl’s Narrative of the Early Days of the Bahá’í Revelation, p. 586

God guides whomsoever He chooses.

“Great indeed is this Day! The allusions made to it in all the sacred Scriptures as the Day of God attest its greatness. The soul of every Prophet of God, of every Divine Messenger, hath thirsted for this wondrous Day. All the divers kindreds of the earth have, likewise, yearned to attain it. No sooner, however, had the Day Star of His Revelation manifested itself in the heaven of God’s Will, than all, except those whom the Almighty was pleased to guide, were found dumbfounded and heedless.”
Gleanings From the Writings of Bahá’u’lláh, p. 11

On the other hand, those who do not make the "necessary efforts" will not be guided to recognize Baha'u'llah.

“Whoso maketh efforts for Us,” he shall enjoy the blessings conferred by the words: “In Our Ways shall We assuredly guide him.””Gleanings From the Writings of Bahá’u’lláh, pp. 266-267

And those who rebel and reject the signs of God will not be guided because that would be a violation of their free will.

"Some were guided by the Light of God, gained admittance into the court of His presence, and quaffed, from the hand of resignation, the waters of everlasting life, and were accounted of them that have truly recognized and believed in Him. Others rebelled against Him, and rejected the signs of God, the Most Powerful, the Almighty, the All-Wise.”
Gleanings From the Writings of Bahá’u’lláh, p. 145

What makes a person evil? That you label the person as evil? Or what?

Why is this confusing?

Do you not use reason yourself as a means to discern what is true about things? Do you lack the learned skill to reason yourself, and realize it is a liability for you?

We are having 2 versions going. Just answer the other one.

What is truth? I know of at least 5 versions. Which one are you using?
What five versions of truth?

If you want to discuss how we humans discern what is true from false, well that is a long and tedious task. Many of us have already learned this and use it as an established tool in our box of cognitive tools. If you are confused then you need to go learn on your own time.

My guess is you are averse to any sort of understanding about what is likely true about what we experience, and any time we get close to this you freak out and start asking questions to slow down and disrupt the discussion. Sabotage. Fear. All your problem. If you are religious, ask yourself why your belief isn't protecting you from this fear.

I am not religious. Now just state what truth is to you.

So you are not rational as per this definition?
-based on facts or reason and not on emotions or feelings
Definition of RATIONAL
Sorry, what?

You know every decision we make involves our emotions to some extent, right? There's really no way around it. People who have damage to the parts of the brain involved in generating emotions have a very difficult time making even the simplest of decisions.

So we agree. What is good or bad, is not based on evidence or rationality.
