Abrahamic God

Abraham was a righteous man, someone who cultivated his mind and body. He did what was asked of him. This is a reason God could speak with him.

It seems like you do not understand spiritual practice at all. It is about better one self to become as one with the teaching. It's not just for fun.
So why didn't the god tell Abraham that it was naughty to have a sexual relationship with his sister Sarah and to commit adultery with Hagar? Or is that because the ten commandments etc are just man-made and didn't apply to Abraham?

So how often do you have a face to face chat with a god, and how many beers do you both drink?
Do you have to have a beer to meet face to face? I think he prefers wine.

I talk to Him quite often, He always has a listening ear. Yesterday He told me, "Check your A/C for mold" - lo and behold, I had black mold growing on the concrete under the A/C and I was wondering why I was coughing so much.

He always is looking after me.

I remember sitting at a bar appropriately named Mac's Zoo Room, drinking a Tom Collins and as I stared in the glass I wondered, "Where are all the miracles I've heard about?".

Maybe I was looking at the wrong place--the drink,

After I opened the door of my heart, WOW!

As I said before, I can not speak for why our why not God did or did not do something.
In my understanding of the 10 commandments is that it is the new law for those who come after they was given to mankind. In my understanding that is the people who follow the new testament.

I am sure the Bible tell all the answers to all the questions you ask here in RF.
Personally I can not answer all your questions.

But it would be good if you answer some of our questions to you.

Perhaps you needed some one to do some conjuring tricks like Jesus did when he performed a conjuring trick with some previously hidden wine in order to irresponsibly make some "well drunk" boozers even drunker instead of responsibly suggesting they drink the water instead to help sober up (John 2:1-10).

I'm trying - but I think that a brick wall would understand better.
What answer do you think you will get? Do you think those who believe in spiritual practice suddenly will say, who Mitty is correct, nothing in religion or spiritual practice is right, we must listen to Mitty instead

Do you not see that to really understand spiritual practice you must practice it you self, then and only then will you gain the answer to the question you ask us.
No matter how many answers we give you, it will be our understanding of the teachings we practice. But how can you understand them if you, your self do not practice?

Have you ever read the bible? If not, what question would you like answered given that I have actually read it?

Maybe that is why you don't hear Him knocking?

I do not believe the 10 commandments are man made.

Yes I have read the Bible and if I want answer from something within it's teachings I will ask the Christian members, and not an atheists.

I am done taking part in this thread, it's nothing more to say here.

And I stopped believing in Santa and fantasies over 65 years ago. And even though one of my father's cousins was an Anglican Archbishop in Melbourne, I understand that none of his children are believers anymore either.

So what unequivocal evidence do you have that the ten commandments are not just man-made, given that they didn't apply to Abraham and his ancestors?

And why do you need to ask Christian members to tell you what the bible says anyway? Why can't you discuss that with YHWH instead, over a beer or two?

1: I believe the Christian teaching in the to be a true teaching meant for those who follow it ( personally I do not follow that teaching) so I have no doubt that that teaching is from YHWH. The Bible is the evidence, nothing more nothing less.

YHWH have no reason to speak with me since I do not follow his teaching. He does not interrupt those who follow a different cultivation teaching.
( I do not drink alcohol, so it would be of no use in a discussion)

So how do you know that the teaching is from YHWH? Have you ever seen YHWH and had a face to face discussion together even if you prefer to not drink alcohol too?

It is called faith in religious and spiritual teaching. I have faith that it is true teaching.
As I answered already YHWH has no reason to speak to me, not do I have a reason to speak with YHWH.

I do not need the "hard case" evidence you seem to need to be able to have faith.
