If you follow a religion or you live a very spiritual based lifestyle.
Have you thought of why you still feel you suffering in your life?

Often in a religious text, it says something on the line of "if you follow the rules/guidelines in this teaching, your suffering will end".
But often when listening to religious people, they are absolutely not free of suffering, what is your thought of this?

What can we do differently so that we, our self does not feel so much mental pain or suffering during our life?

I think the suffering is supposed to end when you die

That you have to wait until you die for it to end

But that after your death there will be no suffering - hopefully!

Basically, I believe you just have to wait and prepare yourself

I know why I feel suffering. There are different ways of framing the answer. One is the effect of the law of karma (sowing/reaping) so what I sowed in past lives, I reap today.

Another frame is that I'm still caught in the world of duality, the world of illusion. Those who have left this world do not suffer no matter what is going on with their bodies.

Yes, I have thought about it deeply. Let me share with you my own religion. It's a little unorthodox but in alignment with Apophatic theology.

Human beings are not perfect and whole like God. We were all created with many imperfections in our bodies and in our minds. It is these imperfections in our human bodies and our human character that are the source of all our suffering and all that is evil in the World.

God is perfect, whole, and complete without any needs, desires, or sufferings. Because God does not have any needs or desires God is absolute perfection and absolute goodness. Our needs and desires are the source of all our sufferings. God did not create the Universe out of some need or desire. God created the Universe out of an overflowing abundance of energy. But unlike God, nature and ourselves are incomplete and full imperfections. It is these imperfections in nature and in our human characters that are the source of that is evil and suffering in the World.

Whenever we experience the opposite of suffering, the opposite of evil, then we are brought closer the perfection that is God. We are all drawn to the God experience. When we experience greatness in ourselves and in others, then we feel closer to the absolute perfection that is God.

According to (at least) many Christians and Muslims, your real suffering might begin at death. (The idea of hell.)

From my perspective, if the Christians or Muslims are at all accurate about what their god is like, then spending an eternity with god would also cause a lot of suffering.

but really, I think that Buddha's approach to reducing suffering in life is very good: try not to be attached to outcomes.

We are a spirit - matter duality, it is hard to lead monastic meditative way of life especially in modern world, our spiritual side in s obscured by materiality 0 to 100%. Gnostics say that many are subjected by spiritual parasites that feed on negative human energy.

Suffering to me is just a warning, Indicator on a problem/situation which needs to be addressed. A challenge to figure out how to deal with.

Suffering is the catalyst of change, improvement. I try to understand the source of suffering so I can avoid it in the future. A lot of it for me is a matter of changing my attitude about life. Accepting life for what it is and not what I what it to be.

If I'm suffering, IMO, it's because I am doing life wrong. Sometimes I do need to allow myself the time to figure it out. I always do and this gives me confidence that at some point the suffering will end.

I don't fear/worry about suffering because it allows me to improve.

Society puts a lot of pressure on people's shoulders. And people break.

Occasional suffering is a part of life. Any religion that claims to free you from experiencing it is false garbage. Also, you would have to lack empathy not to be pained by the suffering of others, thus a sociopath.

when seeing the suffering of others then one would have compassion with them and one would also know what they going through because of our own suffering. if a spiritual person lack empathy and compassion something is seriously wrong, in my understanding
