Ok
@Left Coast ...
I voted... When I started composing a plan in mind on how to make this choice ,one word came to mind: Tactical.
I was hoping to take a Tactical approach to this choice. But ya know what... That's not a good word at all for how I'm making my choice. based on the current primary system and being a strong leftie by default on almost.every issue across the board... My friend... Nothing about my choice can be described as Tactical.
This is a hail Mary. Like.. my choice is me saying. "Please God... End the madness"
As I said in a previous thread, it seems like no matter what, the candidates change dramatically in their position and approach shortly after being sworn in. So what's a guy to do? How can I make a choice on principles?
So...
I'm voting for an outsider with no voting record who can appeal to the largest consistent voting block that I know of.
And that's the hail Mary.
I chose Male instead of Female. Why? I hate to say it, electability. What I saw from Hillary were desperate attempts to cobble together support from conservative men who probably wouldn't vote for her anyway. The result was a hard right Democratic campaign. That's not for me, no matter how beneficial a Female perspective would be as Commander in Chief. Had Hillary run a consistently progressive campaign, and lost, I would much less hesitant to choose a Female candidate at the top of the ticket. Just being honest.
Although, if we choose the right 2 candidates... We could have President Warren in 8 short years. Just say'n. But Warren isn't my choice for VP either, I am very very sad to say.
So, that's basis of my choice.. no one is going to represent me and my principles anyway. And even if they say they will during the campaign, I can't trust that anyone will maintain that once sworn in. We've already had a beautiful black family in the White House. Our Country needs a Women as Commander in Chief, but it's too soon after the failed Hillary campaign.
Who's left. Someone without a voting record to attack... Some one who represents a minority... Someone who will be respected by financial conservatives?
Bloomberg, baby. That's my Hail Mary
A little ironic since the man's Jewish.
For Veep, I'd love to put up Warren. Love to. She is brilliant, but a terrible speaker. Sorry. Going with Castro. The Anti Trump. People have already accepted the idea of a Black man as President. So visualizing Castro as President would be much much easier for the American public at large to get behind. Much easier than Warren for multiple reasons. And America is ready for Hispanic VP. Heck, I think America is ready for a Hispanic President.
Plus, the man also has no voting record to attack. That's huge.
My choice... Totally unrealistic.. which is..
Classic moi
Bloomberg/Castro
