The username you have chosen for use on this forum is "Alone." Do you use that name everywhere you go on the planet, or just here on this forum?I don't know, that is exactly what I'm trying to figure out I just don't understand why names are different in different languages, of course I only speak one language so I can't prove nothing either way, just seems to me it would be a whole lot easier if your name was your name no matter where on the planet you are?
Acts 4:12 (States) Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
So I don't speak Aramaic only English so how do I know what name is The only name that I can be saved by?
They are not three different names anymore than John, Jean, or Juan are different, One is English, one French, and one is Spanish. Besides, it is WHO ( the Son of God, the Savior of the world) the name refers to and trust in this Person, which saves.Hopefully over sometime we might get some clarity on this issue, for now I know that yeshua, yehoshua, and Jesus appear to me to be three different names, it'll be interesting to see what other people think?
I am I the only one who thinks it's a little weird for parents to literally name their son "Savior"
There was an Israeli cult leader a few years back named Goel Ratzon. Goel means savior (same root as Geulah).I guess it would be like a Jewish person naming their child Moshiach. Does that ever happen? And if it did, that would be weird for the kid. Just say'n.
Well I'm sorry that I think this way but if it's spelled different it's different, example a cat is not a lion and the lion is not a cat although some would argue that a lion is a big cat, however a lion is spelled different than a cat, that is how you make the distinction between the two if that makes any sense. They are not three different names anymore than John, Jean, or Juan are different, One is English, one French, and one is Spanish. Could someone please explain this yeshua thing? I just don't understand this, if my name was Bob and I went to Jerusalem or China or anywhere other than the US and someone asked me my name I would say Bob, I wouldn't go to a Chinese or Greek or whatever book to find out what my name was. so I don't understand why the son of God has different names?
i.e.sous, I did a little bit of research on this name and the debate was that Jesus was the son of Zeus what do you make of that, course I don't necessarily believe it but that's why I'm having such a problem with all these different names in different languages causes too much confusion which is why I'm still confused LOLJesus is the latin form of the Gr I.e.sous which corresponds to the Heb Ye.shu'a or Yehoh.shu'a and means "Jehovah(english) is salvation". It's a different name because Jesus it God's son, thus a different person.

Which version does that verse come from?1 John 4:1 "do not believe every inspired expression ...because many false prophets have gone forth into the world...every inspired expression that does not agree with Jesus does not originate with God.
Which version does that verse come from?
10-4 I definitely recognize the verse but I only read the King James version 1611 so I just knew the words were slightly different.I paraphresed
here is a KJV quote:
...believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are God's, because many false prophets are gone out...Every spirit that confesseth that Christ is come in the flesh is of God.
Interlinear:
...not every spirit be you believing, but be you proving the spirits if out of the God it is, because many false prophets have gone forth.
Byington:
..do not believe every spirit , but put the spirits to the test, whether they come form God, because there have many pretended prophets gone out into the world.
Most other translations say more or less the same thing.
Cheers
