Biblical Slavery - How Could A Loving God Condone It?

Maximilian

Energetic proclaimer of Jehovah God's Kingdom.
I'm very sorry that you feel this way.

I'm sorry for all of who suffer under Islam's evil such as rape victims who are imprisoned for being raped, suicide attack victims, trafficked sex slaves, girls who have been mutilated or murdered by their brothers/fathers because they suspected they were not virgins, girls whose genitals have been mutilated, the victims of Taharrush Gamea, and so on and so forth.

Where is your pity for these?

why, then, do Anti-Christians continue to confuse the consensual program of personal debt settlement utilized in ancient Israel with slavery?

Why do Christians pretend that slavery means indentured servitude?

They're not alike at all. With indentured servitude, one is not enslaved against his will, can own property, is being compensated for his labor rather than having it stolen from him, and doesn't see his wife and children sold away from him. I don't know if beating were permitted, but if so, it was by the consent of the person entering into the relationship.

And carrying away any individual against their will was kidnapping which was strictly proscribed in ancient Israel under pain of death.

Then kidnapping, and not slavery would be the crime.

You don't honestly expect anyone to believe it was Atheists who were the driving force behind the end of slavery, do you?

I believe it was people rejecting the ethics of the Christian Bible, which probably included most if not all atheists.

Carrying away any individual against their will was kidnapping which was strictly proscribed in ancient Israel under pain of death

I repeat: Then kidnapping, and not slavery would be the crime.

That was Catholicism, an evil perversion, not Christianity.

How do you suppose that the people here reading your words feel about your religious beliefs? Do you think that you are seen as virtuous?

Those who voluntarily offered to be an ancient Israelite's factotum to cure a debt or to stave off the impacts of intense poverty were slaves? Really?

No. The slaves were the ones who were considered property, had their freedom, labor, families, and dignity stolen from them. Are you expecting people to believe that the ancient Hebrews didn't do precisely that? If so, don't bother.

Atheists certainly weren't the ones championing the cause of American slaves, that's for sure.

As you are so fond of commanding others to do, prove it.

Still with this tired meme? It wasn't funny the first time, and it still isn't. Find something fresh.

You aren’t the arbiter of who’s a Christian or not.

Actually, for myself, I am. We all are.

Are you a Jehovah's Witness?

Of course he is, but a stealth one. He seems to understand that it is not in his best interest to let others know.

I worship the God of Christ Jesus, Jehovah, yes, absolutely

As do all Christians. Try answering the question actually asked. Are you a Jehovah's Witness? If so, why didn't you say so the first time you were asked?

Kidnapping anyone and then selling them was punishable by death in ancient Israel-

Kidnappers must be put to death, whether they are caught in possession of their victims or have already sold them as slaves. -Exodus 21:16

In a similar manner, Christianity also condemns slavery-

We know that the law is good when used correctly. For the law was not intended for people who do what is right. It is for people who are lawless and rebellious, who are ungodly and sinful, who consider nothing sacred and defile what is holy, who kill their father or mother or commit other murders.

The law is for people who are sexually immoral, or who practice homosexuality, or are slave traders, liars, promise breakers, or who do anything else that contradicts the wholesome teaching that comes from the glorious Good News entrusted to me by our blessed God. -1 Timothy 1 :8-10

Given the reality that slaves were always kidnapped or the children of kidnapping victims, exactly why, then, do Anti-Christians continue to confuse the consensual program of personal debt settlement utilized in ancient Israel with slavery?
Well, the Raelian answer is that different religions were designed for societies with different degrees of progress at different times.

I ask my white Christian friends how their forefathers justified it using their scriptures
Wow, your white Christian friends are able to trace their lineage back to ancestors who were members of pro slavery churches ? Amazing !

The answer to your question is simple. Those who supported slavery refused to recognize the humanity of the slaves.Using false markers like non technological cultures, uneducated by western ideaś, physically different, they could justify to themselves that the slaves were´not fully human.

A Biblically false position. This warped concept allowed them to create heinous sins

The human heart, not tempered by God falls to the rule of the animals, the strong conquer and do what they choose with the weak.

Repeated over and over again across the world
