Isn't it true that the more a group tries to censor it's members, the more suspect it is?

Interesting. What determines what a person knows ? Do you know Einsteins theory of relativity is correct ? How do you know it is, if so ?

It was you quoting all those things - Philosophy, cosmology, biology, physics the discipline of logic, personal experience, the experience of others all reinforce that what I know is true - why would you not expect me to have read and done the same amount of stuff as you - or at least in different ways? I've had four more years than you to read more stuff anyway. :D Philosophy was one of my earliest interests, along with science, psychology, and anything else that took my fancy over the years

If your system of belief cannot stand up to scrutiny and if you strongly discourage your members from investigating all avenues there is something wrong. Cults come to mind. Christianity comes to mind.
Read the bible and it will guide you to the truth. If there is no truth, i.e., based on the Bible, in your church, then use your own FREEEEE WILL and leave that church. Very simple, isn’t it? That’s what I did.

For example, North Korea has a suspect government, therefore it prevents its people from knowing more and seeing more. In case they rebel.

The US has a more transparent and stable government. Democracy is healthy and people can think and see for themselves.
In NK they can’t use or practice their FREE WILL but with opportunity, they will. It’s true that “Democracy is healthy and people can think and see for themselves” Christians should read their Bible.

Christians discourage transparancy and free investigation. They warn their members that satan can get a hold on them if they investigate too much.
These are the North Korea type of Christianity, suspended FREE WILL.

And you can? Please!
I don't choose to. Over the years in this forum I have listed a plethora of evidences, in many exchanges. I don't do it anymore. It is wasted effort. There is a verse about not casting pearls before swine. I have thrown many pearls many times. My arm is sore. The pigs will have to root around without my pearls

new swines arrive all the time. Maybe you can save some souls with your unique evidence...

Not to sound offensive, but there isn't truth to be found in any church.
If you are arguing as an atheist then "there isn't truth to be found in any church", but if you are arguing as a Christian then you should "Read the bible and it will guide you to the truth."

The "Read the bible and it will guide you to the truth." is my response to your argument,

By reading the Bible you are "investigating all avenues there is something wrong", right?

Nice try, but I'll decline. I have done it enough. This isn't the way to save souls, especially many who apparently are beyond saving, by their choice.

When I was a Christian, ai usually answered there is no proof that God exists. The truth of the Bible resonated with me. Why not just be honest?

PROOF and EVIDENCE aren't the same. In a court of law, evidence can be weighed to reach a substantive conclusion. That conclusion can be said to be reasonably proven

The Bible is one avenue.

The Bible is one avenue.
It's the ONLY avenue to the truth in Christianity. If you had a bad experience while you were a Christian then you should blame yourself for NOT seeking the truth. Remember the North Korea and the US analogy? Which one were you when you were a Christian?

Christian forums prevent atheists from speaking out. Christians discourage transparancy and free investigation. They warn their members that satan can get a hold on them if they investigate too much. Atheist forums and ex Christian forums however value all knowledge.
I am therefore implying that Christianity exists by hiding truth from its followers. It indoctrinates and holds prisoner with threats of eternal punishment.
What is your opinion on this matter?

I agree, and it's true that Christianity does this, but not nearly as much as some other religions (Fundamentalist Islam being one that comes immediately to mind) or cults like Scientology. There are some branches of Christianity that are more oppressive than others, and there was a time in history when it was the most superstitious and oppressive religion in the world, but nowadays, I would say that it is generally becoming more progressive, though obviously still discourages questioning.
