each year many unborn babies are deliberately aborted.

Because of the opprobrium some people heap on them, thinking their choice to be immoral.
if a woman violates her conscience it may trouble her or even condemn her(((
Romans 2:14,15
for when people of the nations, who do not have law,do by nature the things of the law, these people, not having law,are a law to themselves.they are the very ones who demonstrate the matter of the law to be written in their hearts, while their conscience is bearing witness with them, and by their own thoughts they are being accused or even excused"

Christian rhetoric is worse than useless if your audience does not believe in such.

Quoting Christianity to non-Christians is a bit futile..don't you think?

a personal choice or a question of morality?
Hang on.
Let's not get too self-righteous.
You only gave two possibilities out of several.
Off the top of my head, let's see:-
1. Suickness.
2. Poverty.
3. Pregnancy through rape.
4. A busted career.
5. Life threatening situation for mother-to-be
6. A deserted mother.
7. A sad mistake for a very young girl
8. A much wanted child.
9. An important 2nd child, for a sibling.
10. .......... oh, the list goes on.......

But if you've got a problem with the situation in your land, then vote for more suitable legislation.

Where I live the legislation should be changed so that a decision should have to be made within 12 weeks, I reckon, with a special proviso where dreadful illness is discovered in the foetus or risked in the mother, but that's my opnion.

I agree .there lots of reasons.but abortion is killing.

So is cleaning the toilet with Domestos. So is eating meat. So is smacking a mosquito that landed on your arm. So is denying a woman a life-saving abortion. All of these things result in death but 'pro-life' anti-choice people are okay with these things a lot of the time.

Quite frankly, I can't take the 'pro-life' movement seriously since people who espouse it by-and-large seem willing to do all of the above and sometimes worse things as well.

why not just to think?

Well, here: Exodus 21:22-25 “If men fight, and hurt a woman with child, so that she gives birth prematurely, yet no harm follows, he shall surely be punished accordingly as the woman’s husband imposes on him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. But if any harm follows you shall give an eye for eye, a tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.

As you can see, YHWH does not think as much about a foetus as you do. Unborn child dies: fined by husband or judge.
But if she dies, "an eye for an eye" etc.

Maybe women who have abortions suffer from depression because of the social stigma that the religious heap upon them. Guilt is a powerful weapon, especially in the hands of the superstitious. It's the never-ending witch hunt.

Except that Christianity was opposed to abortion from the earliest times, from what we know:

"However, that the early Christians agreed in rejecting abortion is more generally accepted.[40][41][42][43][44] They condemned it as a serious sin,[45][46] even before ensoulment.[29]While agreeing that abortion was seen as a sin, some writers consider that those Christians viewed early abortion as on the same level as general sexual immorality,[4] or that they saw it as a grave contra-life sin like contraception and sterilization,[5][7] while others hold that it was for them "an evil no less severe and social than oppression of the poor and needy".[6] Even in cases where abortion was seen as more than a sexual crime, the practice was still associated with sexual immorality.[1]"

"Chapter 2. The Second Commandment: Grave Sin Forbidden. And the second commandment of the Teaching; You shall not commit murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not commit pederasty, you shall not commit fornication, you shall not steal, you shall not practice magic, you shall not practice witchcraft, you shall not murder a child by abortion nor kill that which is born. You shall not covet the things of your neighbor, you shall not swear, you shall not bear false witness, you shall not speak evil, you shall bear no grudge. You shall not be double-minded nor double-tongued, for to be double-tongued is a snare of death. Your speech shall not be false, nor empty, but fulfilled by deed. You shall not be covetous, nor rapacious, nor a hypocrite, nor evil disposed, nor haughty. You shall not take evil counsel against your neighbor. You shall not hate any man; but some you shall reprove, and concerning some you shall pray, and some you shall love more than your own life."

Just to pick up on this point, whilst I agree with you, I also think it's pretty normal for a woman to struggle with abortion anyway, even if there is no social stigma. It can be a tough decision, and one not easily made, and like any hard decision, there is the possibility of second guessing oneself, or at least wondering what-if.

Showing that there is elevated rates of depression following a life changing experience doesn't equate to that life changing experience being WRONG morally. Unless people are going to start suggesting childbirth itself is morally wrong, since it also leads to elevated rates of depression.

Yes. The Didache is quite conclusive here. But still does not apply to non-Christians.

I have been mother for many years and I am strongly convinced that abortion is the worst decision ever made
People make all sorts of decisions. There are many opinions on things considered sins but even if you think it is a sin, should people not have a choice? Perhaps we can also send a memo to God to stop aborting fetuses when people choose to have a baby on purpose.

These grave sins are forgivable?
