Hmm... thinking how to word this accurately and succinctly...

I don't think anyone is against the appreciation of beauty, or of people being attractive, or that people may value that...

But I think many people would agree with me that "inner beauty" is not nonsense, or that it is somehow not equal to, if not more important than, physical attributes. Human physical traits are awesome. I'd say that most people get to live on this planet, especially at this time, where disease can be avoided, suffering in some way alleviated and opportunities all around, and have a chance to appreciate their bodies and good on them. But to not use your mind at all, or not to appreciate peoples intellectual capacity, is such a ludicrous thing to ignore. People who lack that are seriously lacking out on the better things of life. They don't even know how to appreciate. The most revered people in the world did something with their mind and manipulated the physical world around them.

Pretty doesn't do that. Pretty dies, and pretty quickly too. What will you have when it fades?

I think people fear the appreciation of human inner complexity because it requires them to confront themselves as well, as inner human. A subject opposed to an object. But most of the best things in life as hard and don't particularly feel great.

Agreed but that is not enough to determine whether or not I want to be with her only if I want to sleep with her. You have not show your perfect mate, just some one that turns you on. The two, while likely overlapping are not the same.
