Oh my. Hopefully it's nothing more than a small error on the part of the banks, or something in your records, and it will be easily resolved.

Nope, it was Yahoo. We had gotten a Yahoo Games subscription that was supposed to be $7.95 a month for 6 months. We started it last month and this month, instead of taking the $7.95, they took $39.75 to cover the next 5 months all at once! That's NOT what is supposed to happen. I sent them an email griping about it and told them to return my money and that they broke the contract by taking the wrong amount so our subscription is now null and void.

I managed to find a phone number for Oberon Media, which handles Yahoo Games, but of course there's no one there to answer phones and their message even says that they do not handle anything by phone and must go through email. They take DAYS to respond to emails and even then you get the run around for a while. I already know this is not going to be a pleasant experience.

Amazingly I just now got an email from Oberon saying they have refunded my money. Now, I just have to watch my bank account to actually see it. That's the quickest action I think I've seen in my dealings with Oberon. Now if the refund really goes through and if they cancel my subscription only time will tell.

The bike broke. The chain flew off in the middle of a busy intersection. Had to walk it home in pouring rain for over a mile. Everything is okay. I have today a just bought Ruger New Vaquero in my long standing favorite .357 caliber, a bottle of Old Forester and some home made sweet corn bread muffins. I will overlook my losses today for the positive gains. Rain can be good.

Focusing on the positives certainly makes one feel more positive :)

1 to 2 weeks. That's how long I was told it would take to get my money back. It didn't take 1 to 2 weeks for them to nearly empty my bank account (and yes, we had just around $40 total in the account at the time), but it will take them that long to get my money back to me. BS! So we're left with no money for gas and pull ups, both of which we need before payday, because Oberon got greedy and wanted 5 months of payment all at once.

Advice to share...do NOT get a Yahoo Games subscription, or any other related to Oberon Media. I had one before with them and it took quite a while to figure out how to cancel my subscription at the end, but as I figured out where to go and how to do it (they don't really advertise how) I figured that this time would be easier. If it's not one thing it's another.

Will the bike take much to fix? Just the chain? Couldn't have been much fun to push a bike home in the rain, but at least everything sounds nice.

That sucks about Oberon, Draka. I'm guessing 1 to 2 weeks has something to do with the bureaucracy, because really, it shouldn't take that long. Will you be all right in the meanwhile?

And pushing a bike in the rain... at least you've treated yourself today. :)

We should be alright. I happened to have a $20 bill stuck back "just in case" that Turk took to get gas on the way to work. Pay day is Monday. It's just that Turk works out of town and works today and tomorrow and needed gas money for those days. Which we'd have in our account Oberon hadn't screwed up.

My grandma came to our house today. She's very worried and has been calling me after she found out of what happened to me. She brought me Korean ginseng so that I'll be "stronger" and made my fave guava jelly. I love my gran gran. :D Though, she's treating me like a kid and keeps on telling me over and over: "What a cute grand kid I have. Let me kiss you cutie.(and tickles me a bit. She knows my "pressure points" :p) You look exactly like your great grand father (his dad)" It embarrasses me but, she my grandma, If she's happy with that, I'm cool with it.

Oh no! She prepared a glass of milk for me and forces me to drink it. Oh well, it's good for the bones! :D

Gotta go shopping today. Payday. Out of everything. Don't envy my checker at the grocery store. She'll have one hell of a cart to empty. :p
