Oh yeah, I know. When I first started looking, I was hoping to get a restaurant job so I could work my way up to bartender, then eventually bartend at a club or bar. This is better than nothing, though

Very good ph meters, which usually come in the form of multi-meters which may also display total dissolved solids (TDS), electric conductivity (EC), and so on, can be a couple hundred dollars.
Stand-alone digital ph-meters normally range from $30+ to $100-.
If accuracy isn't paramount to you though, you can use the dropper method. All you do is take the solution to be measured, drop 3 drops of the ph tester (looks like bottled ink) into the liquid, shake it up and compare the resulting color to the ph chart. You could probably get a test kit like this for under ten dollars.

Yes. Lots of times. Sometimes they tell me, and sometimes they don't. Sometimes their reason for deleting it seems reasonable, and sometimes it doesn't. I've had some perfectly clean posts vanish without a word before... I don't know who deleted them or why...
