you're absolutely right, he hasn't done ANY acting.
I hate to say this but I dislike Adam Sandler and Will Farrell. I am not sure of their acting abilities since I can't watch them for very long without it getting on my nerves.

I can't stand Adam Sandler as a comedian, but I like him better as an actor.
Will Ferrell is horrible. Worse than Bob Saget. Fortunately, he didn't ruin Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back; I guess he can handle a small role without doing too much damage.
I was about to say Ferrell is the worst ever, but I looked ahead and Heather reminded me of

I vote Keanu. Segal is horrible, but he's not expected to act. As has been said, he's only expected to punch and kick people, and break people's arms so that their bones stick out. Keanu has actually been put into roles that required acting, and, of course, failed miserably. He was good in a few things, because he didn't have to act. they include "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure" and "Bogus Journey", "The Matrix" and "Parenthood", and to a slightly lesser degree "Point Break", which required a little acting, but not much. Whereas he almost ruined "Dangerous Liaisons", "Constantine", and others, and did ruin "The Devil's Advocate". The last one could have been a really good movie without him. I've still seen it several times, but I try to block him out.
The Segal argument goes for the others like Pauly Shore too.
And really? Will Ferrell? How can you not like him!!?? Is it that you don't think he's funny or you don't like his acting? I think he's one of the funniest men on the planet, but I also think he does a decent job acting, even if he's not one of the greatest actors around.

Both. I don't think Adam Sandler's funny, either, but I think he's a passable actor.

Huh. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that there are people who don't find Ferrell funny, but I am a little surprised. I have seen most of his movies, and enjoyed them, sometimes only because of him, when the rest of the movie was poop. I also don't think he's a bad actor. Oh well, you are welcome to have your opinion, as long as you know you're wrong.

Sarah Michelle Gellar??? Really? I guess this is never mind the fact that she won an Emmy for her very first acting role ever. And Buffy was no slouch of a show. If she was that bad I think they would have replaced her after the first season or before...but she somehow managed to go for several years in that role.
And I'll pipe up here...I really don't get the criticism of Keanu either. He was wonderful in The Lakehouse...at least I thought so.

Have you guys ever seen "Spanglish"? I actually really liked that movie. I thought it was very touching, especially being a parent. I normally hate Adam Sandler in movies because he's always doing that "I'm just a stupid guy" kind of accent and schtick. But in Spanglish he did a pretty good job I thought - played a sympathetic character. Made me think he could be pretty good if he worked with more serious material.
I wouldn't say that Will Ferrell is a brilliant actor or anything, but he is a great comedian. And he doesn't seem to take himself seriously which is part of his charm. I think he is pretty darn funny.

I liked Keanu in the Devil's Advocate. In fact, I liked most of his movies.
