Will I be forced to go to Heaven?

I'm not a Christian. I don't like God and I have no interest in going to heaven. I do feel like I'm a good person though, so this has got me a bit worried. What if God thinks I'm good enough to go to heaven? We he make me go? I've heard others say that God will change my mind and make me love him. Nevermind that argument because I don't believe it's possible. I'm just curious as to whether God would force someone to go to heaven if they don't want to go.
Not to worry. Good and bad are not the criteria for entrance to heaven. It is belief or non belief in Christ that is the key. You can rest easy.....until....

Sounds like a sales pitch to me. Christianity is all about good vs. bad. Belief in Christ means something, it's more then just an extension of the intellect. Forming yourself to Christ is good.

this is a very interesting question -- you know what god has done all kinds of mean things to people i wouldnt put it past him to force people -- break some commandments or something to ensure your destiny if ya have too -- if you is still you when you get there you can always make life miserable till he gets mad enough -- it aint like he dont exact revenge on people

No one goes to the father but through the son. This is a gift that is your to accept or not. All of our works on earth are looked upon by the father as filthy rags and no one can do enough good on this planet to get into heaven.

It is not about our works but about acceptance and forgiveness.

He won't change your mind. He won't make you do anything. He's not worried about you at all, you'll come home when you are ready.

I would agree with this statement.

Danisty, I am confident that while God will not force you to, you will choose him eventually - though that makes me uncomfortable to say (I mean no disrespect to your beliefs! I merely see God and Heaven differently than you do).

So you're saying I can't just go to hell? If not, what's the purpose in hell?
Seriously, you wouldn't like it. It wouldn't be the great place you might have in mind. The really neat thing about the LDS concept of Heaven is that there is a place for everybody where they will be the most happy. Everybody will end up being with other people that are pretty much like them and in an environment that suits them.

I know you mean well, but please don't for me. I'm very happy where I am and don't want to lose my faith, as I'm sure you wouldn't want to lose yours.
Ditto. Praying for me would only be wishing something on me that I do not want.

Unless heaven has porn, liquor, cigarettes, rock and roll, my husband and Lucifer, I'm not interested.

Who's to say it doesn't? What if the war is over, Lucifer is back in heaven with his Father, and God has realized that not everyone should be the same?

And since when do spirit beings smoke and drink liquor anyway? ;)

Hey now, if I can't smoke and drink I'm not going.

Under the hypothetical that God has apologized and Lucifer has accepted the apology, I will go (as long as there's still porn, liquor, cigarettes, and my husband). I'm not counting on Lucifer accepting an apology from God or forgiving him though, just so you know.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen- Apostle Paul.
Heaven is a concept special to certain faiths, not all faiths have the concept of heaven. No one is forced to go to heaven, just as no one is forced to truly believe in Jesus. The problem however is the concept of hell, in most faiths (Christianity, Hinduism, Buddihsm (i spelled it wrong), Islam, and so many more) it is a choice between heaven and hell. No one that is being serious will choose to go to hell if they truly realise what kind of choice they are making.
If you dont want to go to heaven, then you have made you choice. Its up to you to where you'll be in the afterlife. Unless you faith defines the afterlife in a different manner.

So would all of these people agree that God will force me to go to heaven?

Well first I'll go into Calvin. He once said that we have to assume all people are going to heaven because we do not know anyone else's relationship with God, but our own. So in essence Calvin would refuse to make a judgment call because we can't know.

I think the real answer to this question is that part of going to heaven is actually wanting to go there in some way, wanting to be with God. So if you don't want to be with God the answer is no you wont go there.

What's so great about ... rock and roll?
Alot of things. Myself, I am constantly listening to music with explicit language, sexual content, drug references, and even Satan/Devil worshipping in the lyrics. It gives some inspiration, entertainment, can set a mood or make a setting much better, and is a great way to vent anger and other emotions.

I have decided long ago I would much rather go to hell than heaven.

I will say a prayer for you all.
Thanks, but it would be better to use that energy for someone who isn't as set in there ways.

This ive never heard before!! I guess now i can say "ive heard it all!"
You can hear it again.
I myself have no desires to go to Heavan.
Really, the only reason I am not a Luciferian is I do not believe in Heaven, hell or the Christian god. If they do exist, I want to seperate myself from them. I do however strongly agree with many Satanic philosophys, and I view Lucifer as a great role model.

i like that alot. Ðanisty, i don't really have any answers for you, hon. i don't condemn or congradulate you only because i don't claim to know what happens. i try not to get too wound up about others' ideas about heaven / hell / rebirth / the afterlife. to each their own, perhaps.

Imagine for a moment that God could actually force you to do something.
