I detest celebrating my birthday, so I don't do it. I hate it that I can't find a way to turn off the birthday reminder in FB and I get all these birthday wishes I have to pretend I enjoy. I'm perfectly on-board with someone else's birthday, just not mine. I don't even open birthday cards. I put them in a pile, all two or three of them  and let them ferment. After an appropriate fermentation period they go in the garbage, unopened.

One of my goals in life is to get totally through my birthday without anyone noticing, including myself. But knowing Boss's sense of humour, she'd wake me up at 11:59, and whisper it in my ear.
