"I have never been happier than when I have God in my life."
I have the same experiance, the most happiest moments in my live where when I remembered God. How so full of love He is.
I think because we are etrnal part and parcels of God the only thing we really want is to be with God. All other things can give us some happines but will not really satisfy us. We have the propensity to love and we love so many things but this loving propensity is only completly fullfiled when it is in union with supreme loving object, God.
From yourself. From being at peace with yourself and your place in the world. No one and nothing can make you truly happy except yourself.Hope said:Where does true happiness, or joy, come from? I don't want pat answers--well-thought-out ones, please!
I beg to differ. Since none of us has ever been a slave ( I hope not, anyway! ), could that statement be proven true? Certainly being a slave would not be enjoyable, but I personally think one can find joy in any circumstances, no matter how difficult.thomasedison said:Ummm...From taking pride in all the good work you have done and feeling the excitement and joy that you can do more, knowing that you will be rewarded for it? After all, there is no joy for a slave.
I agree. I said more about this on the other 'happiness' thread. I don't think joy and happiness are the same thing. So, for the sake of argument and discussion, how does one define 'happiness'?Engyo said:Sorry for not paying attention. I would also argue that joy and happiness are not interchangeable concepts. They are two totally distinct and separate things; but this gets back to my original contention above regarding working definitions.
