When do you get a notification for being mentioned in a post?

Hi everyone,
I did not receive a notifaction here:
Why do some celebrate Jesus death?
I think it's like this:
I get a notification normally. But if someone changes their text afterwards and mentions me then, I don't.
Is it like this?

Sorry for the delay in my response. There are a few technical "glitches" we are experiencing with the forum software at the moment, and we have created a list behind the scenes to present to the site owners, who are responsible for IT for the forum.

but the standard here is already very high, including the IT, I think.

I estimate about 1/4 of frubals are not notified to me. This i notice when i do get one, go the the post and notice the post has earned several other frubes. Other times it seems to work fine. I can't say i have noticed with mentions but it's not something i looked for.

Why this happens i have no idea.

It appears that after receiving a frubal alert, there's
a following time period during which additional
frubals don't cause alerts.
After that period ends, it resets, allowing alerts again.

Oh, the search function is acting up again.
The display is very hard to read.

Odd, on occasion i seem to get several within minutes from one user,

And also odd, I'm not having search problems other that it has great trouble finding misspelled words, i get that a lot.

Are your search results delivered in the same
format today as usual...say a couple weeks ago?
Mine aren't. It's a problem that comes & goes.

I suspect that staff change system parameters to vary
with time & user....just to mess with us. It's one of the
many perquisites of being on staff.
