What song do you have stuck in your head right now?

Zephyr

Moved on
I am currently stuck with A tout le monde by Megadeth. It's the only French I know.
A tout le monde.
A tout mes amis.
Je vous aime.
Je dois partir.
These are the last word
I'll ever speak,
and they'll set me free.

"Mercedes Benz"

Oh Lord, won’t you buy me a Mercedes Benz ?
My friends all drive Porsches, I must make amends.
Worked hard all my lifetime, no help from my friends,
So Lord, won’t you buy me a Mercedes Benz ?

Oh Lord, won’t you buy me a color TV ?
Dialing For Dollars is trying to find me.
I wait for delivery each day until three,
So oh Lord, won’t you buy me a color TV ?

Oh Lord, won’t you buy me a night on the town ?
I’m counting on you, Lord, please don’t let me down.
Prove that you love me and buy the next round,
Oh Lord, won’t you buy me a night on the town ?

Everybody!
Oh Lord, won’t you buy me a Mercedes Benz ?
My friends all drive Porsches, I must make amends,
Worked hard all my lifetime, no help from my friends,
So oh Lord, won’t you buy me a Mercedes Benz ?

That’s it!

Looking back on when I
Was a little nappy headed boy
Then my only worry
Was for christmas what would be my toy
Even though we sometimes
Would not get a thing
We were happy with the
Joy the day would bring

Sneakin' out the back door
To hang out with those hoodlum friends of mine
Greeted at the back door
With " boy ,thought I told you not to go outside!"
Tryin' your best to bring the
Water to your eyes
Thinkin' it might stop her
From whoopin' your behind

I wish those days , could , come back once more
Why did those days, ev-er , have to go
I wish those days , could , come back once more
Why did those days, ev-er , have to go
Cause I love them so

Brother says he's tellin'
'bout you playin' doctor with that girl
Just don't tell I'll give you
Anything you want in this whole wide world
Mama gives you money
For sunday school
You trade yours for candy
after church is through

Smokin' cigarettes and
Writin' something nasty on the wall (you nasty boy)
Teacher sends you to the
Principal's office down the hall
You grow up and learn that
Kinda thing aint right
But while you were doin' it
It sure felt outta sight

I wish those days , could , come back once more
Why did those days, ev-er , have to go
I wish those days , could , come back once more
Why did those days, ev-er , have to go

Live and learn by the cardigans. I'd never heard it until three days ago, when i heard it playing on my sister's laptop. I've had it in my head ever since.

I know irony right? You don't have to convince me. Darn Harry Potter I knew I shouldn't have put the movie in.

I tend to go through phases with artists; I'm in a Jim Reeves 'mood' - one of my favourites, which is still 'in my ears' is:-

How long has it been since you talked with the Lord
And told him your heart's hid in secrets?
How long since you prayed?
How long since you stayed on your knees till the light shone through?

How long has it been since your mind felt at ease?
How long since your heart knew no burden?
Can you call him your friend?
How long has it been since you knew that he cared for you?

How long has it been since you knelt by your bed
And prayed to the Lord up in heaven?
How long since you knew that he'd asnewer you
And would keep you the long night through?

How long has it been since you woke with the dawn
And felt this day is worth living?
Can you call him your friend?
How long has it been since you knew that he cared for you?.. :)

Never Stops by Lagwagon. It's about the terrorist attacks on New York and the frothing nationalism and retaliation that ensued.

It's also very catchy. :)

A little sample of the lyrics...

Quiet shocks gives way to righteousness
Rattle on the bars
Vengeance will be ours
Fanatics on their knees
pray for a swift and just revenge
Become what they condemn
mirror image men

Hands across America
let’s catch contact hysteria
Our flag erects from broken homes
July 4th forever more
Colors of democracy
fly from every SUV

Warrior King

I wish I was the warrior king in every language that I speak
Lord over all that I survey and all that I see I keep
Power omnipresent undiminished uncontrolled
with a mass of violent fury at the center of my soul

I wish I was a warrior king inscrutable benign
with a faceless charging power always at my command
Footsteps so heavy the whole world shakes
My rage instilling fear
Yet cautious firm but fair and good
The perfect warrior king

I wish I installed angels in every subjects house
Agents of my goodness no one would be without
A steak on every plate a car for every house
And if you ever crossed me
I'd have your eyes put out

You don't exsist without me without me you don't exsist
And if logic won't convince you then there's always this
I'm bigger ,smarter , stronger ,tough
yet sensitive and kind
And though I could crush you like a bug
it would never cross my mind

It wouldn't cross my mind to break your neck
or rip out your vicious tongue
It wouldn't cross my mind to snap your leg like a twig
or squash you like some slug
You are a violent messenger
and I'm not above your taunts
And if you hit me you know I'll kill you
because I'm the Warrior King

"Drunk Sincerity" - Bad Religion

the smell of virgin pages wafted through the swinging doors
and the croaking speech he'd heard from countries counselors before
they said "we all care for you, we know how you suffer
but I know you can succed, I used to have it so much rougher"

there's hope in the words and emotion in the eyes
it's so easy to be misled by the savvy gentle guise
and like fools we trust the delivery
but it's all just drunk sincerity

in maternal family assembly poised regarding the blue tube
the numbers crept up higher and the hawks stayed out of view
then the generals said "we dont want our boys dead
your sons and your husbands will be coming back heroes soon"

with steam, heat, and rhythm in the back seat of the car
and adolescent perspective projecting life's forecast to the stars
you heard love from the lips and you were rapt by the hips
and the promise was eternal but you couldn't see that far

The last verse kills me. It really is a beauty. Catchy as hell too.

Malus 12:9

Temporarily Deactive.
Unfortunately, it's still "I Come From the Land Down Under"...
The sad, sad minds of some people. I dread to think that all Americans now think we walk along, singing that song while on our way to see Steve Irwin, dressed in cork hats and eating Vegemite..oh of course we would see a few Shazzawazzas along the way, which, according to the Simpsons, is an Australia Bullfrog

Mind you I have never heard of a Shazzawazza
