No, they did a war game and are looking at how their results apply to the current situation. They specifically mention how the scenario they wargamed applies to the current infection. For example, they specifically point out that the mortality rate is a better indicator of how things are going than the rather fuzzy 'number of detected cases' since testing is far from uniform.

These types of games are done all the time for a wide variety of scenarios. I had one student that participated in a 'hacking' wargame that involved a hostile foreign country.

The best way to be prepared for a disaster is to do exactly this sort of thing. maybe if our leaders had listened to the results, the reality would be different. But then, there have been warnings about the fragility of our system to a pandemic for ages.

For your information: One of the missions of the war colleges and/or general staffs of every nation on earth is to prepare for all possible uses of their militarys. This means in practice that they run simulations and make plans for just about everything they can think of. Surely the US war colleges would not be doing their jobs if they were not running simulations of what might happen should they be deployed to intervene in a pandemic. Heck, they probably have run simulations of what might happen if Iceland attacks Maine, let alone far more likely things.

You can be rightly skeptical but don't be gullible, I believe this is the right position to take....
Is this pandemic part of a wider more sinister agenda after all our other disasters? Perhaps, but we can let it play out....because the Bible has foretold this whole end times scenario.....and where it will take us. Some of us may lose our lives....but not forever.

What is the world being prepared for? A 'one world government'.....but this last attempt by humans to exert power over the masses will end in disaster according to scripture.....its none of our business, so we just go with the flow and hang on until God sorts it out....permanently.

The only government that will ultimately defeat all of man's failed efforts at self rule, will be God's Kingdom....the one Jesus taught us to pray for. It is 'coming' ready or not.....but a "great tribulation" has to come first. (Matthew 24:21)
