It wouldn't surprise me, but the number of people who believe it is irrelevant based on a "fact or fallacy" basis concerning one nation meddling in the political affairs of another. Such as, the 13% of Americans who believe Russia did not interfere with the 2016 US election, even though it is a fact they did.

But the story shows how propaganda works to confuse and mislead people. And I'm sure there's confirmation bias at work as well.

They ought to be investigating Putin for illegal activities but I doubt that would happen. Putin just has his opponents arrested.

Of course everyone in Russia thinks the west is "meddling" in their politics. That they wanted someone less hostile and meddling to them than Clinton is a no-brainer. Trump also promised to "reset" the relations with Russia which were gone dangerously low. Who'd have thought that Trump would make the relations worse with them?

Every news outlet in the west wants someone else to lead Russia than Putin and no month goes by without saying it. It been this way long before Trump.
