Pope Francis was one of the first Christian leaders, perhaps the first, to explicitly break diplomatic protocol and the church / state non-interference custom, to explicitly call him out back in 2016 while the Donald was still just GOP candidate for the presidency:

And the Pope was right.
Trump is in my humble judgment an egotheist, one who worships himself:

Egotheism is deification of the self, or the view that the idea of God is nothing more than a conception of the self
And the definition of the spirit of Antichrist in the very Bible Trump has just desecrated, is egotheism according to St. Paul:

In 2 Thessalonians 2:3–10, the "man of sin" is described as one who will be revealed before the Day of the Lord comes.
3 Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God. 5 Don’t you remember that when I was with you I used to tell you these things? 6 And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time.
The spirit of Antichrist - which is to say the antithesis of the values that Jesus represented and stood for, dressed up as a false messianism that leads many, including many Christians, astray - is a perennial phenomenon that the church must contend against in every generation:

It's so clunkily obvious that this is a commercial for: "Trump - the Law'n'Order President. Vote Trump in November. You know it makes sense." [Oh and pass that bible would you: I need votes from the Bible Belt. Now which way up do I hold it?]
