Nope it works in exactly the way he wants it to.

Take for instance. His recent "racist" tweet.

Every Dem is freaking out. Got "The Squad" all fired up, Pelosi who was just called racist by them, now rushes to their defense. Unifying the Dems with a group of congresswomen with single digit approval numbers, that constantly berate and belittle America and its citizens. Let's not forget they won't disavow terrorist groups either.

Meanwhile while everyone is freaking out. Pelosi is in the House trying to get Congress to condemn Trumps tweet (lol). Trump uses the distraction to end asylum for people who traversed more than one country to get here. Then impeachment vote fails miserably with only 40% of Dems supporting it.

Congress could have used it's time to stop Trump, but too late now they was too focused on a tweet that nobody will remember a week from now.

Except that Trump has repeatedly abhorred senseless violence, thus the commentary here doesn't fit the truth. In Trump's ideal world he wants us to have a decent military, but he doesn't want to use it as obvious by many of his actions. He rather have a trade war or impose sanctions rather than kill anyone to make his point. I'm down with that line of thinking, personally.
