True story of a Lesbian 15 year old being raised up in the LDS church who got beaten and taken to live with strangers who beat her. It sounds exciting, its suppose to be on Lifetime 9-28.

Oh, this was/is very common in the LDS church, especially if you live in Utahstan. Both Sister Missionaries that taught me had someone who was gay in their families. I'm still very hurt and angry with them; something that Jesus does not allow. My feelings challenge me daily.

I've heard about her story. It was absolutely horrific. But to be 100% fair, her story is not at all characteristic of how a typical LDS family would handle the situation. Trust me; I know many LDS families with LGBT kids and they have good relationships with them. My former bishop has a transgender daughter and you couldn't find a more loving, compassionate man. And if you were to go to Salt Lake City's annual Pride Parade, you'd see that one of the largest groups marching in support of their LGBT family members is "Mormons Building Bridges."

Thats great but the article dos say she was sent to a household setup to turn gay people into heterosexuals with abuse, so it was a plan setup by the church. I certainly hope you guys got rid of that ! I'm glad you guys are tolerant no a days that's cool!

Well, I definitely plan on watching the show since I am aware of her story. Without knowing all that many of the facts surrounding it, I'd still strongly doubt that the Church had any idea how horrendous the abuse was. I know that for quite some time, the Church did advocate "Conversion Therapy" which, in my opinion, is positively unconscionable. But this goes way beyond even what Conversion Therapists would have advocated.

My belief is that my Church still has a long, long way to go towards making LGBT people feel loved and welcomed. That's why "Mormons Building Bridges" was formed. I've marched with them every year for the past seven years. Even the "official policy" regarding LGBT couples and their children has softened some. Still, "tolerant" is relative and we do have a problem, in my opinion. About all any of us can do at this point is individually show our LGBT brothers and sisters that we care about them and do not judge them.

My unresoved rage against the GA only hurts me, not them. Jesus does not permit the nursing of anger.

I know, and I can't say that I blame you. Just know that even all of the GAs don't always agree with each other on matters of this sort. They more or less have to present a united front, but it's entirely possible (my guess is it's even probable) that even some of them are fighting for people like you.

They are not the most sinister, though they be worse than what happens in "Inception". The worst are the deceivers who use strong "legal medications" to get the gullible to believe a lie. Many in the psychological community are like daemons leading folk into a sinister lie. At this point I do not know why God does not give me death? The Church could have helped, but didn't.

They punish the innocent with their withholding of certain benefits when they have done nothing wrong.

I found out about the Native American Two Spirit too late. The damage was already done, my life destroyed.
