This may come as a surprise, but Jesus could not speak English.

I'm an african and I'm white. So maybe Jesus was also white?
    What you think?

Nothing in the bible mentions his physical appearance. If he looked strikingly different from everyone else, i.e. he was white, or an albino, or was 10 feet tall, I think that would have been mentioned.

That depends, does he have a good sense of humor?

And, if he doesn't speak english it wouldn't matter because he couldn't read them!
Matter of fact, if he doesn't speak English, then how can he understand prayer? lol

I agree. The bible was not only written in a language no longer used in modern communication, but was also written approx. 1800 years ago at the earliest (for he NT) and some parts longer that 3500 years ago.

That being said, many of the bylaws written in the Old Testament were actually valid taken in context with the time period they were written in. The parts in Leviticus that concern skin diseases and mildew/fungus/bodily discharge/eating shellfish and raw meat for example. This was at a time when the concepts of hygiene and sanitation were still a mystery and these were set in place to safeguard the people from harm.

Other parts of the bible have a wealth of moral value, such as the sermon on the mount given by Jesus, accounted in the four gospels. I don’t necessarily agree with everything that Jesus said but there's some good stuff in there.

The other stories, (i.e. Jonah and the whale, parting if the red sea, the fiery furnace, etc.) are simply ridicules. They defy logic and reason and I, personally, cannot believe them as truth. But if you are willing believe in a God that can literally do anything then I guess its not hard to make the step to believing in these stories.

As far as historical fact I don’t think I’m qualified to refute to endorse anything, since I have not studied ancient middle eastern/Mediterranean history.

I agree but it is a fun thing to wonder about. I wonder if he chewed his nails? Or what sports he liked (if any). Did he have a crush on any young ladies? When did he lose his first teeth? Did he tell jokes? Was he moked by other children?

I don't think anyone will dispute this.
    Granted
Please cite your evidence to back up this point as many people do not agree with you on this point.
Actually, you appear to think it is with a thread title "This may come as a surprise, but Jesus could not speak English."

Personally, I believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that he could have spoken and understood any language that was in use at the time and that when he returns, English and any other language that was not around will not be a problem for Him.

As I re-read your OP and follow up response, I get the distinct impression that you have very little understanding of Jesus' ministry and the depth of faith of His followers. Even though you seem to view the Bible as "wrong", I hope you'll take the time one day to read it and broaden your horizons.:)

You obviously overlook the Texas legislator who opposed teaching foreign languages in the schools, declaring, "If English was good enough for Jesus, it's good enough for me!"

(Nor, to counter another poster, is someone born in Asia, African. And Israel is in Asia.)

    From "A Knight's Tale"
French Squire: An Englishman will not win this French tournament. English legs are unsteady on French soil.
French Squire: And because French wine is too much for English bellies.
French Squire: And most importantly, because the Pope himself is French.
Roland: [finally gives in] Well, the Pope may be French, but Jesus is English! You're on!

I'm not encouraging anyone to do anything illegal, but merely encouraging the legalization of something that is unjustly over-regulated by the government.

Several states allow the medicinal use of pot, but stupidity is not included as a medical condition in any of these states.

I'm sure most people reading your post would know this. Here where I stay it is legal only if it is used for religious purposes. You know the Rasta's.

Does it say anywhere in the bible if Jesus looked like his Mother or his Father?
did he have any sisters or brothers? or was he an only child?
I wouldn't think he looked like his father, or we would know what God looked like,
it is a silly question really, because we don't even know what Jesus looked like,
was he gay? or did he just choose not to marry, I wonder if he was a virgin, I expect so, or you would have had all the women he had slept with trying to sell their stories to the newspapers.

There may be an old Springer episode with some of Jesus' disciples and relatives fighting over his golf clubs. Sex was most likely part of the whole thing, but I don't remember.

I wonder if Springer has it on his website?

    I found this on google

    http://www.gotquestions.org/Jesus-siblings.html
As far as his sexual exploits I don’t think there's any scripture telling us anything one way or the other. There's always the "da Vinci Code" theory that says he fathered a child with Mary Magdalene before he was crucified.

He probably looked like Joseph, for whatever reason. The Bible says he is a descendant of David but contradicts itself about the exact lineage. http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.com/contra/gen_ml.html
