I'd say they're Symphonic Black/Thrash Metal.

Yeah, that fits. Though they're really a genre unto themselves from "Stafire Burning Upon the Ice-veiled Throne of Ultima Thule" and onward. That, by the way, is a killer album, for anyone who's not heard it.
