Our country was founded on individuality, not community, like Europe. We like our space. We were influenced by the Protestant Work Ethic and I think it definitely limits us. We should be open to other types of society.
We are free here to try other types.
But they must be voluntary associations, unlike countrywide imposed socialism.

Someone else doesn't pay because we all pay.
I spoke of a common type of socialism fan I see....the ones who want
more than they can afford, & expect that they'll get what they want
without having to work any harder, ie, those who earn/have more will pay.

Tis a "stereotype" which actually exists.
But be careful when you apply that word.
You risk painting all socialism fans with that broad brush.
That wouldn't be fair or accurate.
Which of course you just did in your previous post and I didn't, so maybe take your own advice.
