The False Hope of Bipartisanship in American Politics

Springfield isn't that big of a town.

I regularly visit Shelbyville, North Haverbrook,
Ogdenville, & Brockway to service their monorails.

"Speech" can mean so many things, depending on which expressions we want to ban.

For example, some people may think of public protests as "speech", while others may think of them as "riots" and "looting"...

Protests are protected speech.
Riots & looting are not.

Riots & looting are not.

And it is the people in power who decide which is which, the same people who have a vested interest in shutting down speech that is critical or outright harmful to the status quo.

And after they shut down public protest for "rioting", persecuted political movements as "terrorist organizations", and imprisoned dissenters for "treason", they will still declare "speech" (that is, their narrow, self-serving definition of it) to be "free".

Us Westerners pride ourselves on our freedoms and our democracy, but when it comes to dealing with public protests, the mask comes off, and our police and our governments act no differently than any authoritarian state.

The problem is the Democrats and left controls the bureaucratic state, fake news and the main stream media, Hollywood, Social Media, as well as the university and educational system. It had the medical community but this may change if Obama Care is repealed. That used to be enough power and control to appease the left's need for power and control, allowing them to be more relaxed and more subtle in their quest for further power.

Trump has altered the equation and the left is having a hissy fit which promotes and encourages division. The Democrats are the original party of slavery and dual standards. The hissy fit started with being caught spying and then the failed coup. Now it has escalated to violence and anarchy. One more Trump term will allow Trump time to break the leftist social cartel. Then we can unify as a country.

It can become difficult to allow protests, yet prevent & stop
violence. But imperfection & error notwithstanding, we still
have the right to speech in the form of protest.
No one ever said that it would be easy & perfect.
