Neo-colonialism is horrific and needs to end.It's age-old geopolitics and advancement of some countries' interests at the expense of others'. Nothing arcane or mysterious about it.
As for Niger, the junta used anti-imperialist sentiments as a pretense for seizing power, but I'm betting that they will be just as corrupt and oppressive as their predecessors, if not more so.
They are considered oppressive by the élites who used to steal Niger's resources...of course.
But Gaddafi was trying to help these countries through a new currency...
