if you kill an extremist recruiter you prevent the creation of his future extremist recruits. simple as that....... its simple logic. if you catch a cancer in its early stages and blast it with chemo, you prevent further spread.... alternatively we can take your approach and sit on our ***** waiting for the cancer to spread because you think that trying to kill it is a "fool's errand" anyway.

It just doesn't always work that way. Kill one who may not be an extremist, and you have killed an innocent. Their deaths may drive others to become extremists.

You seem never to have heard of the concept of martyrdom. And the cancer you are talking about is centuries old, not in its "early stages". People seek vengeance and revenge, even when their countrymen, kin, and friends were guilty of violence against other innocent people. Revenge is part of a cycle of violence that never ends.

extremism/intolerance/violence/revenge dont exist on their own. when you kill the intolerant extremist seeking revenge through violence, everything dies with him/her. their young unaware offspring will not be subject to the same extremist upbringing. WHY? BECAUSE THE EXTREMISM DIED WITH THE PARENTS. it takes violence to create peace. and yes, many innocent bystanders will be murdered in the process.

i think the judao christian god had it right when he called for the complete eradication of entire tribes. it was the only way to prevent the future suffering of many more.
