Socialist AOC is happy to give away soviet-style posters propagandizing GND.

The whole news article merely repeats the criticism then goes on to give AOC a platform to speak by quoting her. Seems like a nice way for a journalist to give voice to a liberal politician in spite of a conservative news outlet.

There is a nice series of postcards I like to collect in a similar style and era of art:

Vintage Memorabilia | Lantern Press

So if you are a conservative be sure to write to your congressman or woman about this evil spread of art, I mean, socialism.

Sorry.

Too many colors, far too little propaganda included in each example...the posters the OP refers to are simple two to three color, cheap to print, LOADED with symbols of the GND (all fairy tale optimistic 'imagine' stuff). The examples you give do not remotely follow that example. Only the 'Olympic Park" poster comes close, and THAT only in the specific limited palette style, not in the message.

I think that if AOC were trying to promote nationalism or violence or corporate greed then the comparison would be apt.

You think she is NOT trying to promote a form of nationalism? Are you of the opinion that it's one thing to promote individualism, violence and/or corporate greed, but it's fine to promote government control of everything you like?

I dont see her platform as promoting government control without it being a defense against a long history of corporate greed.

When you have two sides of a see saw, it doesn't matter which side is all the way up. It's a bad idea either way.

Oh, don't be silly. Your art history education (or rather, lack of it) is REALLY showing. It's not the content of the posters that is being criticized here...but the style. There are enough examples of propaganda on this thread for you to do some comparing here. OAC is using the very classic poster style of the twenties and thirties that was used VERY prominently by the Soviets in their propaganda. So much so that the style used is as much a symbol of that as the swastika is for the Germans.

Though I'm not fond of the content, either. That IS propaganda.
Yup. And Led Zeppelin told us to worship the devil just like Judas Priest told us to kill ourselves.

Actually i completely disagree with that as reasonable as it sounds...reality is such that we must always be ready to identity and respond to excess by intelligently countering excess in a way that leaves us to having manage less in the future. This is because on the whole we gradually find our way to take shortcuts which create this imbalance.

So I say we need to keep looking for those new seats that arent any fun because they always tip to one side.

Beware D&D, Magic: The Gathering, and Harry Potter. They'll be teaching your kids real witchcraft, have them summoning demons, and ensnaring their souls in hell faster than you can say "Paradise Lost."

That's exactly what the socialist Green New Deal is.

Government control and oppression.

Then why in the world are you supporting the 'squad' and the stuff they are selling?

You don't see the difference between rock songs and this sort of propaganda?

I do.

People tend to grow OUT of believing Led Zeppelin and Judas Priest...especially since even their most die hard fans knew a metaphor when they were dancing to it.

This sort of thing? Deadly serious stuff, and deadly stupid. How in the world do they expect anybody NOT to get the allusion?

I know of the differences. I also see the similarities between "don't you see these things that just aren't objectively there to see?" and "don't you hear these things that just aren't objectively there to hear?" I didn't see a Commie in the shadows, I saw early-mid 20th century-ish retro-ish cheesiness.

Did America have any New Deal posters in the 1930s?
