Especially since the only reason why marijuana was outlawed in the first place was to prevent Mexicans from coming into our country…Now that is ridiculous…
Maybe to you, but there is a ban on marijuana here in the UK too and we have almost no Mexicans. Who's crazy now? :p

The dangers of porn, as far as I am concerned, are that to those with weak minds, sexually repressed..etc, pornography can give an impression that "sex on tap" is the norm. The latent danger lies therein; now, there is no way to sort out those for whom porn is likely to lead them to want to put into action what they have seen depicted, other than banning it.

Better solution...Keep the freedom to choose, Remove the taboo, and make a lot harder punishment for sex offenders. The death penalty fits the crime in my book. I guess my tolerance level for people that don’t deserve life has dwindled over the years. At least make them eunuchs. That would be one hell of a deterrent.

You guys are just ahead of the game...I guess they wanted to make sure they never got there...lol...:)

Actually its big business for government funding. Or at least in our country. After the cocaine epidemic had lessened, the government agencies we established to fight cocaine needed to keep its funding. Since we were already starting to have problems with immigrants coming over from Mexico, our government decided to kill two birds with one stone. The Mexicans where bringing the weed, we can’t outlaw being Mexican, but we could weed. Even after the government ordered tests to be done by the elite universities to find things that it did to you. They didn’t find what they wanted to…didn’t matter…still outlawed it.

Reason, and reason again
It's not like you could effectively ban porn, with the Internet being the main source of it.

Child porn is illegal, but I'm sure anyone who really wants to see it could find an archieve of pictures and movies in a few minutes.

A fool
First things first, I don't think that children should play any sort of part in the making of pornography. The same goes for anyone and anything else that is unable to give informed consent.

Personally I find simulated rape to be very disturbing but I don't see that it harms anybody. If somebody is going to commit rape then viewing simulations isn't going to tip them over the edge. I don't think there is anything wrong in holding the fantasy as long as it remains a fantasy. Perhaps some of these rape sites go too far in trying to present the fantasy as a reality.

Certainly I have very little problem with other forms of pornography that contain non-consensual sex such as hentai or erotic literature.

Yeah I think I'd have to say that as long as the non consensual part is simulated (ie the child is drawn or the rape is fiction) then it is not actually causing any harm. I might not like it but I'm not about to assert my morality based on my feelings alone.

Some Kind of Strange
I don't see anything wrong with any form of adult porn, no matter how violent or disgusting it may be, as long as it is consensual. Child pornography is illegal and should definately stay like that.

No, no, no. All wrong. You'll never learn to be a manipulative, scheming politician with talk like that!

The same sort of argument is made against cartoons, video games, horror movies...the list goes on. If you ban it, you lose your ability to regulate it in any way.

I am truly one of the most un-offensive person you will ever know(unless people start quoting scriptures…got to draw the line somewhere). But, although I agree completely that there should be no limitation on consensual adult porn, the availability on the internet to children is appalling. There should be more limitations on what sites can just show to the public without some type of adult authorization process.

but the "adult authorization process" is the parents, isn't it? the internet is such an easily accessible tool that the only real solution is to hope parents will invest in password protected search filters.

Yes, adult porn should be legal. It's no different then what goes on behind many closed doors, right? (And that's legal).

I myself am adamantly against the surge in porn involving love dolls. Is nothing sacred anymore?

As long as the love dolls are consenting participants, it's wrong of you to want to force your own twisted morality on anything they do.:tsk:
I'd almost think you're trying to stifle rights for people of latex to make their own life choices, Phil.:sarcastic

I have worked in the feild of computers for 12 years now, trust me, the filter concept doesn't work. Reason why: A large number of sites do not rate themselves. With very little being done about that, filters don't work. If you want proof, enable your filters and go searching...it wont take long.
