I'll see if I can find any sort of hard data beyond simple predictions, but really, it should be common sense. When dealers sell cannabis, they are taking legal risks, and they don't do so cheaply. If legalized, they not only wouldn't need that extra "risk fee", but increased competition would force prices down. There is absolutely no reason for cannabis to be the price it is, other than illegality. The most common comparison I've heard is to raw tobacco. Smokable tobacco is much harder to produce, yet the price is far lower due to increased competition and legality. Besides, if dealers were to lower their prices to undercut the competition, it just means less money in the hands of criminals, yes?
