Remember Kyle Rittenhouse? How could one forget the guy who numerous media outlets and even Joe Biden claimed was a White supremacist without any evidence. It seems that the judge in the case has ruled that the rioters and looters that assaulted Kyle cannot be called victims in the case.

"The men shot by Kyle Rittenhouse in August 2020 can potentially be referred to at his trial as "rioters" or "looters," a Wisconsin judge said Monday while reiterating his long-held view that attorneys should not use the word "victim.""

Kyle Rittenhouse trial: As trial approaches, judge may allow the men Kyle Rittenhouse shot to be called 'rioters' or 'looters' -- but 'victim' isn't allowed

"Kyle Rittenhouse is officially in a presidential ad by Joe Biden as an example of “white supremacists” who President Trump “refused to disavow.”"

And I am sure you are outraged at this attempt to suppress freedom of speech by the judiciary branch of the US government.

They were clearly seen armed and attacking Kyle Rittenhouse before they were shot, I guess if a woman is about to be raped and she kills her attacker then the potential rapist is the victim in it?

Does it matter, they were shot, someone who is shot is a "victim" of shooting

Yes if the rapist is shot he is a victim of shooting. It does not diminish his attempted rape.

If he said that they cannot be called "victims" he may have gone overboard. The problem is that they were rioting and looing I think that they need to be referred to as both. Rittenhouse was not authorized in any way to take independent action.

And to be honest I think that he will not be found guilty of murder. There is substantial evidence that even though he was being a numbskull, carrying a gun that he should not have had if one is thinking reasonably, he did not appear to start the attack. He does seem to have a valid case for self defense.

Like it or not, just carrying a gun is not evidence of intent to kill. I would like to see him get some sort of punishment but odds are that it will not be a murder charge.

Apples and oranges. He was a 17 year old with a rifle in an area of civic unrest. This is like dousing your house with gasoline and being surprised it burned down.

They lie because they can. It's a typical behavior trait by the leftist regime.

They ignore that it's supposed to be innocent until proven guilty.

It's arguable that a person can be drivin and a victim of minuplation yet to be determined.

I don't see how a fair trial can be held if predetermined notions are made as fact. Not to mention freedom of speech.

Looks like Kangaroo Kourt is in session.

I disagree. I would not go that far. But if the prosecutor makes the same error that they have made in some other overly politicized trials he just might. I think that they could legitimately get a reckless endangerment judgment against him at the least.

Do you have a source for that? From my understanding he was attacked first.

There is a middle road. One of the people that he shot, but I don't think that he killed. Was armed himself and had drawn his gun when he chase him. I might have to see if I can find a breakdown of the shootings.

    EDIT:

Rather than the video, which can be rather disturbing I am going to quote from the Wiki article on this. The first confrontation is key. It is the one where the prosecutors are most likely to get a murder charge against him:

The beginning of the first confrontation between Rittenhouse and Rosenbaum was witnessed by McGinniss to whom it seemed that Rosenbaum and other protesters were moving toward Rittenhouse, who was trying to evade them; Rosenbaum then tried to "engage" Rittenhouse, but Rittenhouse managed to avoid this by sidestepping and running away.[6][39]

The remainder of Rosenbaum's confrontation, and the following incidents with Huber and Grosskreutz, were recorded in cellphone footage from multiple angles, including the moments of the shooting.[40] Video footage showed Rittenhouse being pursued across a parking lot by Rosenbaum,[28] who threw something in Rittenhouse's direction,[41][39] identified as a plastic bag.[6] As Rittenhouse was running from Rosenbaum, two shots could be heard, one from an unknown third party, fired for an unknown reason, and one from Joshua Ziminski, who fired a self-described "warning shot" into the air,[42] causing Rittenhouse to stop running and turn towards the sound of Ziminski's shot.[28] McGinniss stated that the sound of the shot was the moment Rittenhouse "went from running away to aiming his weapon."[42]

Then, according to Kenosha County prosecutors, Rosenbaum engaged Rittenhouse and tried to take his rifle from him.[43][44][5] Rittenhouse then fired four shots, hitting Rosenbaum in the groin, back, and left hand. The bullets fractured Rosenbaum's pelvis, perforated his right lung and liver, and caused additional minor wounds to his left thigh and forehead.[45] Rittenhouse remained near Rosenbaum as McGinniss began administering first aid. Rittenhouse then made a phone call and was heard saying "I just killed somebody," and then fled as more protesters arrived.[5] Rosenbaum died shortly afterwards.[45]

Rosenbaum, the first man to die, was part of a group trying to chase Rittenhouse down. He grabbed for Rittenhouse's gun according tot eh prosecutors. That is going to sound like a valid self defense claim. Please note. There were shots fired before Rittenhouse fired himself. That is going to add to his defense.

Video from another angle then showed Rittenhouse being chased down the street by several protesters, one of whom allegedly struck him from behind in the head, knocking off his cap,[46] shortly after which Rittenhouse tripped and fell to the ground.[47] According to the criminal complaint, at that point, protesters were heard on two different videos yelling "Beat him up!," "Get him! Get that dude!," and "Get his ***!"[6] One of the men who had been chasing him allegedly jumped and kicked Rittenhouse while he was still on the ground – Rittenhouse fired twice but missed the man.[7]

Next, according to court records and video footage, another protester, Anthony Huber, "made contact" with Rittenhouse's left shoulder with a skateboard as the pair struggled for control of the gun.[9][6][48] As Huber was pulling on the rifle, Rittenhouse fired once, hitting Huber in the chest, perforating his heart and right lung, causing his rapid death.[6][49]

Again, this sounds like self defense. This is not looking good for the prosecution.

    And the last shooting:

Gaige Grosskreutz approached Rittenhouse while he was still on the ground but stopped and put his hands up when Huber was shot. A complaint filed by the Kenosha County Clerk of Courts stated that Grosskreutz appeared to be holding a handgun,[50] which Grosskreutz later confirmed.[51] When Grosskreutz moved again towards Rittenhouse, Rittenhouse shot Grosskreutz in the arm, severing most of his bicep.[9][52][53] At least 16 gunshots from other sources were heard on video during the time that Rittenhouse was on the ground.[28]

You do not move towards a man holding a gun when you were part of a crowd that was chasing him. This too appears to be legitimate self defense.

He is probably going to walk on the murder charges. There may be other lesser charges and hopefully he will get a guilty verdict on one of them. He did not fire first. He was being chased and attacked by a mob. Should he have been there in the first place? I don't think so. But then the same could be said about the armed people that were protesting.
