Rape Culture

You can always start a thread about it in general discussion or general debate about it. That's where all of the feminist issues were before the feminist forum. Rape culture affects us all.
I think this is a good place for the thread.
(And this forum felt lonely.....no action for a while.)

It is hard for many men to believe that a man had to actually be forced into having sex. The erection simply doesn't happen unless the man is at least aroused somewhat or drugs are involved. (Yes, there are drugs out there that actually induce an erection.)
It can be physically induced, so the result doesn't necessarily indicate desire or permission.

Interesting court case which illuminates institutionalized rape in the 'justice' system....
Judge sentences young Jacksonville man to life in prison for shooting officer
A young Jacksonville man who ambushed and shot a Jacksonville police officer multiple times during a traffic stop in 2016 was sentenced to life behind bars Wednesday.

Kevin Rojas was smug in court when the officer called Rojas a coward and said he would have a tough time in prison. The officer then took out a tube of K-Y Jelly, a personal lubricant, and said: “You are going to need a lot of this.”

You're either female or a eunuch if you think that's true.

No, erections can happen just as a result of random physical stimulation without any arousal. Anyone with a penis whose ridden a crappy public bus can tell you that the vehicle's vibration can even cause unwanted erections.

6) Your example here: ____________________________________________

For #6, how about the fact that rape by envelopment is not legally considered rape in the USA, and any type of rape of a man at all, in certain countries (like India) isn't legally acknowledged as rape.

Legally penetration is required or the law won't consider it rape.
This poses an interesting difference.
Consider 2 scenarios.....
1) Male penetrates female forcibly = rape
2) Female forces male to penetrate female = not rape

In both cases, the same act is performed by force, ie, it's assault.
But only the woman is raped.

It takes a **** on its source material. I loved the graphic novel but couldn't get through the first episode of the TV adaptation.
This is why people should never read books.
As I've learned with Bonfire Of The Vanities, Catch 22, etc,
movies are a very different venue, & adaptations will often
disappoint (Lynch's Dune being one exception).
