I LOVE the prayer of St. Francis, thank you for posting that! Especially the part about seeking to love instead of be loved. I have a HUGE problem NOT doing that.

God our creator, there are so many people in our world who are persecuted for their belief in you. We hear in scripture that those who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness that the kingdom will be theirs. We pray for all those whose lives are threatened by violence because of their witness to your presence in our world. May they feel your presence in their life and may they be strengthened in your love and mercy to continue to bear witness to your name. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
