One Of Those OMG Incidents

I saw in the description that they don't know if the forklift driver was okay or not. Hard to tell, but one point was raised that I agree with:

It is unknown whether the forklift driver was injured or managed to keep his job after the catastrophe.

Some viewers took to the internet to comment on the catastrophic scenes.

One user said: 'Clean up on aisle 6... 7... 8...'

Another said: 'Roll of paper towels, dust mop and pan, and as good as new to me.'

A third suggested the problem must be with the unstable shelving, and not the worker.

He said: 'If that's all it took to bring down 3/4 of the warehouse, then the problem lies in the shelving, not the worker.'

Another simply commented: 'Lunch break.'

Indeed, all he did was just lightly nudge the shelf, and it came crashing down. Cheap shelves.

What? Me worry?
Not so sure this is not fake. I watched the exact same video yesterday and in that clip the two rows near the wall stayed intact. Also, in yesterday's video, the damage stopped before it reach that deeply near the ends of the impacted rows.

And even in this video, it was not the "entire" warehouse because there are shelves on the left that are untouched.

He actually hit a leg on one of the pallet rack's uprights.
(They're different from shelves. I use'm to store machines
& stuff.) There are more videos of drivers doing this.
Great care is required operating a forklift.

Aye, the kind of employee no one wants driving a forklift.
I could design a pallet rack which wouldn't fail if a driver
hit an upright. But no one would buy it...to spendy & too
difficult to set up.
So we depend upon the skill of the drivers. It's like driving
a car...making them accident proof is impractical.

More fun....

Well, if they can design self-driving cars, why not self-driving forklifts?

Because forklift drivers do more than drive.
Depending upon the task, they....
- Rig loads.
- Take breaks for snacks.
- Pick up, carry, & set down loads.
Some day though....

Check this out...

I know of such things already. Those are very simple tasks.
But try getting one to properly sling a machine which can't
be palletized, & carry it over rough ground, & locate it on
a trailer in between 2 other machines.
I don't fear becoming a dunsel yet at engine shows.
