From what I read, Muhammad (Peace be upon him) was 53 and Aisha 6 when they got married. In prison, murder is considered an honorable crime in comparison.

(You don't want to know what they do to pedophiles, even if it was consensual. It is so bad, I'd consider the rare ones who get killed to be the lucky ones. I got beat up, spit on, tied up, stabbed, and put in the hospital in prison, but that is like a pillow fight compared to the hell that the pedophiles went through.)

But, it is entirely possible that Muhammad (peace be upon him) and others with that inclination are in Heaven. I give him the benefit of the doubt, and give God's mercy and unconditional love, the benefit of the doubt! I don't have that vice (Thank you Jesus!), but have enough disorders and errors in judgment to know that people with an affliction, addiction, obsession, or inclination to do something like that, can't just make it go away. They simply can choose to resist the temptation to act it out. So, God rest and heal their souls.:babyangel:

But, there has to be purgatory of some sort. I've known (at monasteries or hermitages), sex-addicts, perverts, or people with deviant attractions that most Christians consider forbidden, who live celibate prayerful lives, gave themselves and everything to Jesus, been born again (or whatever), totally changed their lifestyle etc. But you talk to them on a deeper level, and find out that they still have desires that would make most people's hair stand on end! They just stopped acting on it!

People in heaven simply aren't going to be burning with those passions, inclinations, and desires. It just would not be heaven, for them (or their potential victims.)

So, there has to be a transformation and purification some way, some place, or some how!

I'm not big on Scripture anymore, but off the top of my head, I can't think of a sin Christ condemned more than hurting a child (and a prepubescent child cannot consent...I don't care where you're from):

    Luke 17
It would be better for them to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around their neck than to cause one of these little to stumble.

And, if heaven is anything like Jesus described, it is going to be full of innocent childlike people, apparently:
    Matthew 18
18 At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
2 He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. 3 And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.4 Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.5 And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me
6 “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.

So, obviously, there is no pedophilia in heaven, and well, a lot of things people are afflicted with, they will not have that affliction or inner struggle in Heaven. It just wouldn't be heaven. So, there is a degree of purity, childlikeness, perfection, and innocence required for heaven.

Many Christians die without that degree of purity and perfection. But they accepted Jesus as Lord and savior, repented of their sins, and met all the requirements for salvation (as is presented by Scripture and most Christian Theology).

But, I'm not convinced that a pedophile or a sexually disordered individual, just repents, accepts Jesus, and has a personal relationship with God, suddenly no longer has that weakness or attraction. If they die, they simply aren't ready to enter heaven. Hence, the need for Purgatory!:handfist::praying:

Thoughts? Objections? Ideas? Do share! :)

Would it be in poor taste to point out the lack of Catholic Priests in heaven?

    And I'll see myself out.

The whole repentance thing wouldnt apply to such creatures as a pedophile. And im sure dahmer aint singing hymns with no saints because of his appauling testimony.

I think even christianity recognizes this is no mercy land. They reap judgment on themselves.

I remember a few verses said about people who hurt a child, it had been better for them had they not been born.

If you had a point, which you don't.

    A) a Pedophile could potentially be purified in purgatory

    B) Catholic priests are not more likely to be pedophiles than other men. The percentage of school teachers who are pedophiles is higher

    C) Roughly 2% of Catholic priests are Pedophiles (Which comes out to hundreds and hundreds, which is still too much for that vocation by far, but worthy of consideration nonetheless)
    https://www.catholiceducation.org/e...ptions/9-myths-about-priestly-pedophilia.html

So, your post is completely pointless, irrational, inaccurate, poorly informed etc.

Even if 25 or 50% of priests were pedophiles...That wouldn't mean they never get to Heaven. In my post I said "I hope Muhammad is in Heaven" "People can be purified in purgatory" etc. so, even if those statistics were more on your side, your post would still be rather pointless! ;)

As a group, I feel some sympathy towards them. They are still humans, they too were "born that way," and many of them live and die with a great shame of their secret desires. I don't condone it, but they are still human.

We don't know the mercy of God! It (hopefully) is more understanding than we are.

Dahmer became a born again Christian in prison, met with his victim's family members to apologize (He didn't have to do that).

You don't get strong impulses to drug, attack, sodomize, decapitate, or eat the flesh of young men, so you don't have a clue what it is like to be someone who is afflicted in such a sick way as to commit cannibalism and keep severed heads, torsos, and body parts in their fridge...if you are not haunted with such sick passions to do that, be thankful to God, but if you were, you might just have done the same thing! ;) So, stop judging!

I could be wrong about purgatory...but, have convictions that I believe to be inspired by the Holy Spirit. When it comes to the afterlife, anybody could be mistaken. But I highly doubt there is anyone who struggles with Pedophilia in Heaven (Were such a place to exist), so have total confidence, if there is a Heaven, I'm correct about that.

Which part of the OP do you think I'm making up? If you think I'm making up anything about the fate of pedophiles in American prisons being complete hell, or murder being considered a more honorable crime by (practically all non-sex-offender inmates) on average, well, you clearly haven't lived in an American prison.

Keep in mind, the OP is addressing people who adhere to a Theology and system of belief that resembles Christianity in some way.

The OP was not meant for atheists like yourself.

You don't embrace the Theology or belief in Heaven, so disregard the OP! :handfist::thumbsup:

When I mentioned "pillow fight" that was a hyperbole, to demonstrate that id much rather get punched, kicked, shanked, or break bones, and tear cartilage and ligaments (all of which I've had) than be a pedophile in some of the correctional facilities ive been to.

But it wasn't as bad as the OP sounds. Getting the wind knocked out of you is worse than punches to the head, which is usually almost always where inmates bomb on you.

Getting hit in the head knocks the lights out a bit, so your mind becomes slightly unable to fully register what is going on. That combined with a rush of adrenaline, makes it so that it's really not torture at all.

Getting stabbed sounds bad? Not really, all things considered. In prison you typically get stabbed with pencils, nails, screws, or shanks which are usually combs, toothbrushes, or some plastic item that is sharpened for hours against a cell wall.

They draw significant blood and leave large scars for the rest of your life, but not anything excruciating or life-threatening.

Yes, i was taken to the hospital because an inmate with long fingernails was punching me in the face, and his nails put a scratch accross my pupil, and the eye would not cease watering and hurt like hell when blinking.

So got some tests, some numbing eyedrops, and an eye patch.

All things considered, quite minor compared to how much I would have suffered as a pedophile. Just saying...

If a staff reading this thinks that would be a better fit, please move it there...but it does involve sexuality, so not sure...

    Anyhow,
What I meant by murder being an "honorable crime" in comparison, well, it is in this context: If the murderer didn't kill family or friends of other inmates, his crime doesn't get him persecuted. He may get persecuted for throwing up gang signs or other behaviors, but not his crime.

A pedophile is hated, shunned, antagonized, insulted, and often assaulted for their crimes

I tried to be friends with a guy who had a consenual encounter with an underage girl, because I felt sorry for him. I'd walk with him and talk in the bullpen, and other inmates criticized me for it.

I said, " i feel sorry for him, sad that he had those desires, sad that everybody hates and bullies him. He must be a tortured soul".

But the mentality is not rational, neither do you find the slightest trace of compassion for a pedophile there...not that I saw. Just the way it is.

I would like to make one point for your consideration. Joseph was about 32 when he married Mary, who was about 14 or 15. That was the usual arrangement for the times they lived in. The "young maiden" was sexually mature when capable of having children and the man was typically much older to have established the ability to care for a family.
