How did you vote? Why?

"For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong. " - H.L. Mencken

Nevertheless, Wikipedia: Dark Money is worth reading.

Yes, dark money, is a contaminant. Yes, it's a contaminant that's been embraced by the Democratic Party. Yes, it would be great if we could eliminate dark money from the political process. But, no, I was not bought.
I voted Republican for the Senate and House in my state. The Senate because he was a better Democrat than his opponent. The house because my friend who I vote together with manipulated me at the last second; would have rather voted Democrat in the House but didn't.

Your State being ... ?

The Senate because he was a better Democrat than his opponent.
You mean: "... because I perceive him to be a better Democrat than his opponent," which is fine. It is also completely a function of (a) the State in question, and (b) your definition of Democrat.

The house because my friend who I vote together with manipulated me at the last second; would have rather voted Democrat in the House but didn't.
Seriously?

Textbook example of the "Dead Cat Strategy": Hey, look over there, what about AOC? Whereas this thread is asking why the Democrats were unexpectedly successful.

Why do you think the Democrats were unexpectedly successful?

I assumed deeper issues would have meant more to the people. In the end it became an exercise based on wading in shallow water. Shallow is alway more beneficial to the Left. To the Left, a TV senator who knows how to charm the audience, is better than a real Senator with acquired skills, since the latter does not have better catch phrases.

For example, John Fetterman wins the race against Dr Oz. The shallow on the Left, felt sorry for Fetterman, due to the lingering impact of his stroke. They did not think deeper and realize he will be a target to dark forces around him, who will use his handicap to make him a puppet.

Now you will not have the same person you're voted for except as a TV prop. At least Dr Oz was of sound mind and would have done a better job for his voters, by default. The Left does not think that deep. All it can see is D near the name and act on some PC impulse.

The same shallow is the reason they hate Trump. There is a personality clash since he is not PC, but will push buttons that are supposed to remain off limits. They will not think deeper to see he was one of the most competent presidents, exceeding many milestones before the pandemic.

The student loan promise should have been seen as the political stunt it was. The President does not have that authority, but rather that needs to come before Congress. But Biden and others assumed his base will stay in the shallows, and see $$, and not think this through. They will vote and then the bubble will burst. It can even be used again in the future. The same self centered pinheads will repeat this again.

Abortion was another walk in the shallows. All the Supreme Court did was send this back to the states, to decide. The Constitution is clear what are the roles of the Federal Government are and this old law was not one of those. The states have to decide. However, the political mantra was abortion was being eliminated. Go even a little deeper to see.

No wonder you guys want socialism. It allows you to stay in the shallows, and does not require you have the noodle needed for a free society of free people.

Shallow is alway more beneficial to the Left.
Really? What did the Pubs propose to solve the inflation problem? As a matter of fact, what did they propose to solve any other problem? In 2020, they didn't even put forth a party platform. Instead, it was all that the Dems are all rat finks! :dizzy:
