Many ideas are painfully correct?

I finally figured out what direction I should go, when I studied the revelations of the Baha'i faith
I feel I have a slightly higher connection to the paranormal and supernatural than others whether or not I want to admit to it, which would lead credibility to the ideas of Spiritualism. I feel in my spirit sense that such beliefs can be strengthened by focusing on a different version of 'self' perhaps on a different plain - a belief of New Age and maybe other religions. I feel life would be boring without faiths like Buddhism, Hinduism, etc. Upon reaching out to Jesus recently, I felt a beyond-average sense of light and comfort. I have read Baha'i articles stating all religions contain truth, and it's quite a beautiful view. I believe that Peter *may* have founded the Catholic Church, maybe, which would lead more credibility to Catholicism, despite this being an unpopular belief here.

I further believe that atheists and agnostics may share a mind most similar to God's, which is an even more unpopular belief.

    What do you think?

IMO, I think God shares our mind.

    I see.

I probably still shouldn't have used the word "share" though. I should have just said "God seems to be an atheist and He probably finds evidence at least as important as faith, Himself. For that reason, the minds of non-believers and God may not be too far off."

Ok, to that I would say, which is a fundamental belief for me, that we lack any actual knowledge, knowledge in the sense it being something we can verify, about a God in order to allows us humans to make any comparisons.
I'm sorry that's probably not very helpful.

And my respectful counter would be what if we have knowledge, but ignore it? What if God actually came back to Earth and the knowledge is right in front of us, but by ignoring all the founders of religion that have encouraged peace and not caused the world great harm in their teachings, we have been ignoring God? What if it's lazy for me and you to think God isn't reaching out to us?

I see. I mean, what if we think God is some maniac who doesn't answer us and kills everyone via a flood, yet the human race is the murderous maniacs who is imprisoning every good person that we need (or doing worse to them) when they open their mouths to say what needs to be done in order to save humanity?

If God truly is love, God understand our walks. She/he knows why we are where we are in life. God doesn't want to hurt us. God wants to help us. I don't believe that God would cause a great flood. I think that was misconstrued by ancient people who believed that if a catastrophe happened, it must have been because they had angered God(s). To me, it might have been word of mouth passed down for millennia since the end of the last ice age when everything melted over much of the earth.

Yep. I think God is real via what evidence there is contained in the Christian faith and Baha'i faith. But regarding the Bible, these things were written down and passed down through men. I think Christ is very powerful, like a strong angel of light, but I'm not sure of pin-point accuracy in all the handed-down stuff of what He said. For example, maybe He never meant the stuff believed about a modern day "Tribulation" etc.

I can only speak from my own uncertainty and lack of knowledge. If God were to, somehow, provide me with that certainty/knowledge, I'd be all for it.

Okay. Be careful what you wish for. Considering a one-day or two-day study of the Baha'i ideas and a mildly open mind might do you some good on such a matter. (Lord forgive me if I'm preaching in trying to uncover the truth with fellow posters...)

I think the uncertainty (unknowing) of the human condition is what gives us the gifts of both freedom, and of faith. Why would I want to give them up just so I could "know"? How dull and pointless would life be if I knew what it was all about? And what it was all for? And what is right and what is wrong and what will happen beyond each of these options?

I think you all are looking at God's "hiding" from us as some sort of big problem, when I feel it's actually an amazing gift to us. If God really is all-knowing and all-powerful, then I feel sorry for it. What a boring burden that would be,

Well for folks like you lots of time out away in the wilder parts breathing hiking.
Now for folks your opposite very sciebtific analytical minded lots of times out away in the wilder parts breathing hiking.

They just may discover a larger than themselves and for you keeping you grounded so you dont become a larger than yourself literally. Folk that are more numinous need more grounding not grounded john muir prime example. He was out there and here at the same time grounding was the trick. Good breather actually.

There is no saving humanity. That's a secular utopian idea.

Dystopia?!? Sweetheart we are living in Utopia now! This is about as good as it gets here in the U.S. right now. There is room for improvement of course, but we are plateaued out atm and now it's a matter of diminishing returns.

    Welcome to the American dream!

    Eh...

Video games aren't what they used to be and are now microtransaction-filled, buggy messes that require 100GB of patches.

Companies like the Fortnite people exploit children to siphon money from their parents.

The rise of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, etc, etc. And the loss of privacy.

We've got programs like the 700 club giving some really biased views.

    And many other things...

Yes all signs of the plateau.

    Prosperity, boring boring boring prosperity!

Life is a little more exciting though when your country is in real turmoil and bullets come through the house at random times randomly killing family members for no apparent reason.

    I'll take the prosperity.
