I will try to give you my thoughts as best as I can.
I have done some research regarding Bibles in the past.
The reason I did so was because of the anti homosexual madness in the Christian churches. The God that I felt I knew did not seem to line up with the God being peddled in the churches.
So digging deeper into some of the verses that the churches use for their condemnation, it led me to discover some interesting things.
There are well over 100 versions of the Bible, and more probably being made for all I know. That’s just in English.
You can imagine how many in all the foreign languages.
Well, when a translation is made, there are errors made along the way. Generally the errors are insignificant for the most part for most people.
Where difficulties arise, is when a translator makes small, nearly imperceptible alterations on purpose because of a bias.
Generally the bias is a result of religious dogma of the translator.
We can do research and attempt to discover the real word of God.
The internet is a wonderful tool.
One would want to find the original writings (manuscripts) from the original authors, to see the actual Word as delivered by God.
Unfortunately, none of the originals exist for the New Testament, and I’m not sure about the state of OT manuscripts, although it seems unlikely any originals exist there either.
So what we have is copies. And we also have 1000s of copies of copies. So you can see how the true word of God can be lost.
But I have also discovered that there is more than an adequate perfection in what we do have to allow a person to find and understand the Lord.
So, the bottom line is: The Word of the Lord is perfect, what we humans have to read is an image ( like a photocopy) and although it does not have the perfection of the original Word, it is sufficient for the Lord’s communication with us.
Even when you locate the blatant mistranslations done by scribes who are pushing a religious agenda, you can rest in knowing that it doesn’t matter in the long run. The message needed is there.
The problem arises when the individual doesn’t want to hear or see the message, but instead use the Bible as a weapon of mass destruction.
