Copied from word of mouth, not like a copyist sitting down with actual texts. I'm certain this is how things not considered scripture got jumbled in as if it was. Muhammad made his own version of Judaism with him playing King-Prophet.

    Ptobably the most famous one...

Muhammad/Allah 5:32 "Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land - it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one - it is as if he had saved mankind entirely. And our messengers had certainly come to them with clear proofs. Then indeed many of them, [even] after that, throughout the land, were transgressors."

This is from the Talmud that Muhammad would learned having a sit down with a local Rabbi. Not from the Hebrew Scriptures but another Rabbi's commentary on the Scriptures. Muhammad/Allah did not know which sayings and teachings were scripture or not.

In other words this would be like Joseph Smith quoting St. Francis instead of the New Testament for Jesus' teachings.

:) quran is the chronoloically last book of the same god.moses, ,aaron, jesus, mary and many many other prophets are directly saluted by god in quran. quran doesnt refuse bible or talmut, do not say they are totally wrong anywhere. but there are reasons why quran had to be. god doesnt do anything in vain.
but i just remember, at least in one case it has been stated that we are tried through our attitude to each other.:)

It would make sense if stories of the local and traveling Jews, whom Muhammad admired greatly prior to his rejection, were being piggybacked. It was the entire backdrop for a ruling prophet that was needed. The pagan tribes of the Arabs, like those of most of the world, didn't have that concept of prophethood - despite what Muhammad later would claim....messengers/prophets sent to all peoples.

Please quote from Talmud with reference.

Also please mention the name of the local Rabbi mentioned by you and its reference.

Also please mention detail with reference to your sentence "Not from the Hebrew Scriptures but another Rabbi's commentary on the Scriptures."

I am an open mind and I welcome truth that may come from any source and any where it comes.

Thanks for your interest in the subject.

Did you see the YouTube cassette sent by a friend here. Dr.Zakar Naik made good points in it. If you have not viewed it earlier please view it now. It takes on a few minute to view it.

    Regards

    Either the book was

    A. Written by a human mortal scribe.

    Or

    B. It was divinely inspired.

    Which is it???????????

If it was B. then why are all the histical errors still present?

    A. bad divinity?

    B. NO divinity at all?

So we know only humans wrote the book, and there is no divine source at all.

We know christianity was well known and spreading everywhere. It did not come out of a vacuum.

Why is it hard to believe another culture perverted biblical text, to meet their own needs.

    Israelites perverted the Canaanite religions
    Christians perverted the Israelites religion
And islam perverted both christianity and Judaism

Switch to "evolved" if "perverted" bothers you

Please mention only one error- the most strong one you have from the so many you might have with you.

Also please also mention if this has occurred to you while you were making an unbiased study of Quran; and you have not relied on any other website against Quran/Islam/Muhammad for the error.

    Regards

    True enough.

No one is stating they copied the bible word for word.

But without its influence, written and oral, there would be, no islam

@ outhouse; others could also join if they like.

Quran has 114 chapters; some very long and some of only a few verses. We start with the shorter ones.

The first Chapter of Quran is called Al-Fatihah or "the Opener". It is considered the summary of the whole Quran and also as introduction of Quran.

    The Holy Quran : Chapter 1: Al-Fatihah

[1:1] In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful.
[1:2] All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds,
    [1:3] The Gracious, the Merciful,
[1:4] Master of the Day of Judgment.
[1:5] Thee alone do we worship and Thee alone do we implore for help.
[1:6] Guide us in the right path —
[1:7] The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings, those who have not incurred Thy displeasure, and those who have not gone astray.

The Holy Quran Arabic text with Translation in English text and Search Engine - Al Islam Online

With all the knowledge one has learned at Harvard and from its professors; and the courses one has attended from the learned professors on Judaism/Torah; please quote from the Torah from where these verses of Chapter-1 of Quran have been copied.

Now, please be consistent; and take no offence as no disrespect is intended here.

    Regards

the stories in the quran are not the same as we find in the bible.

They have the same characters but the details of the accounts are quite different. So no, i dont think quran is a copy of the biblical narratives.
