Is National Public Radio Urging War With Iran?

While I listen to NPR only on & off during my day, I've noticed
a pattern in their coverage of the US vs Iran hostilities.....
They give a history of conflicts between the 2 warring parties,
but mention only incidents which make Iran look the aggressor.
I've yet to hear about the 1953 coup, the proxy war using Iraq,
the Stuxnet attack, etc.

Is this mere ignorance of our provocations (lack of due diligence),
or do they actually support Trump's belligerence? Criticism of him
has been muted when covering this matter, eg, not the usual dwelling
on calling him a liar or racist.
Why?
Is the sentiment anti-Islam, anti-Iran, pro-Israel, or a combination?
Or do the see nascent war as good foreign policy?

I've never been big on broadcast news. One of the biggest reasons is the brevity necessary to fit all the stories into a short report.
I grew up reading print for real news and the internet is great. Some talking head giving me a two minute blurb isn't all that helpful.

Public radio is a good form of freedom of speech, but also very destructive.
Unlike noisy right wing radio, NPR's bias is more subtle & sophisticated.
Although they usually get noisy too when raging against Trump.

Familiarity with NPR offers great insight into the minds of Democrats.
I often hear from the latter what I've previously heard from the former.
NPR is a window into the Democrats' perspective.
So it's not just news....it's insight into my fellow man....& woman...&
gender neutral person....&...uh...you know.

Nobody wants war.. and everyone is pretty much in agreement that Trump is a moron and Bolton is a hawk....

But, why are we ignoring the threat in the Persian Gulf and Red Sea?

Emotion over facts???

I am not american, nor have i listened to NPR while i have wowed america with my presence , so take this with as much salt as it deserves.

Would you expect a government owned "news" source to transmit anything to hurt its paymasters?.

So propaganda you will get.

Conservatives, Christians and Republicans generally hate NPR.

That would depend upon what you claim.
(It's on a claim by claim basis.)

I mentioned in another thread that the mainstream media are remarkably similar when it comes to matters of foreign policy and military intervention.

Oh, my wide eyed innocent young padawan.
You want to see the best in us, but you know us not.
Let me show you how Ameristanian leadership thinks....

I propose that it be negotiated away.

Not for the past five years.. and not last week. Pay attention to the facts instead of your emotions.

They have bitten the hand that feeds when attacking Trump.
But this is easily explained by NPR being composed of Democrats.
I think of them as more an arm of that party than of government.

That's not really how NPR works. The large bulk of funds are from private sources, mostly individuals making contributions.
Tom
And those contributions are government subsidized
by tax deductions (federal) & tax credits (states).

I've seen very little good faith dedicated negotiation with Iran,
particularly since 2015.
Pay attention to the facts instead of your emotions.
