Is killing insects, small plants, etc out of fear or by accident, still sinful?

It is a sin still as per law of Vedas, I killed a mosquito by mistake today, it landed on my neck and out of impulses, I just touched that place not knowing it was mosquito and the poor one died on spot. I have to be attentive.

Please do not kill insects or mosquitoes, just use fans and other stuff to shoo them away instead of using insect killers in houses.

I have tremendous Arachnophobia and often I kill tarantulas that simply pop up in the walls of my room by spraying them with poisonous chemicals.
I couldn't just throw it out of the room since I m really terrified of going near it.
But after killing it, I do feel guilty and sad.

I also evade insects, like ants on the streets but often it's difficult to see them while walking, mainly when you're late for your classes.

I try not to pluck leaves or flowers from plants either, though during some festivals we have to.

However intentionally I try not to harm any insect or plant (plants maybe for food) but is killing insects, plants, etc without any reason by accident or killing spiders out of fear (okay, that might be a sin) still sinful?

Accidental stepping on insects is not a sin, neither is killing them out of fear, any other type of harming animals (insects even) is in my opinion a sin.
Harming anything solely out of pleasure is sin.

I think you are talking from your religion point of view. I respect your opinion. I don't know we need to kill small insects out of our little fears. I feel kind of bad after ending even a small life by mistake, this is not religious....from religious pov, also Accidental stepping is considered as sin as per vedas,
there is a small analogy, if you remove a guard from your house, you either should take his place or do his duty or create a new one, as you cannot create a new insect, you have to take its duty and so in next life you would be born as such .

Krishna in BG in the last sloka says, sarva papebhyo

papebhyo is plural word and then why did he use
sarva which means 'Entire' . The reasons given are that entire refers to paapas or sins like accidental killing and as such and they are only rectified when one does surrender at the feet of Krishna as the ultimate refuge.

Of course, this is after all posted in "Religious debates". :D
It would be stupid to kill for e.g a fly, it can make you no harm (it is however annoying) so you should at least try and get it out of your room/house & not kill it. But if you see some venomous spider then you feel in danger and you're free to protect yourself by killing it.
