Was there something deficient in Daniel's depiction of the great statue in chapter 2 where God found it necessary to repeat the prophecy in a completely different vision in Daniel 7?
Daniel 2...
Your interpretation of Daniel is the same as most of our illustrious bible prophecy EXPERTS. Meaning...
Head of gold= Babylon
Arms of silver = Medo-Persia
Thighs of bronze = Greece
Legs of iron = Rome
Toes mingled with iron and clay = The Rome/EU.
If I'm correct, then answer these questions...
The only thing said about the second kingdom, the arms of silver, is that it's inferior to Babylon. What kingdom was inferior to Babylon? Was Medo-Persia the inferior kingdom? Absolutely not! The Median Empire was not only much smaller it was also short lived. How can the Medo-Persian empire be the "arms of silver" when the word 'inferior' is the word
LAND. How was Medo-Persia 'land inferior' to Babylon when it was three times the size of Babylon? Daniel, Isaiah, and Jeremiah all ascribe the taking of Babylon to the Medes, NOT the Persians.
Daniel 5:31 "And Darius the Median took the kingdom, (Babylon) being about threescore and two years old."
Isaiah 13:17 "Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, ie.(Babylon)
Jeremiah 51:11 Make bright the arrows; gather the shields: the LORD hath raised up the spirit of the kings of the Medes: for his device is against Babylon, to destroy it; because it is the vengeance of the LORD, the vengeance of his temple.
The iron and clay also debunk Rome as the fourth kingdom/legs of iron...
Daniel 2:43 And whereas thou sawest iron
mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.
How can the word 'MIXED OR MINGLED' denote a Roman, Rome, an Italian, or the EU when MIXED is the Aramaic word, ARAB and in
every resource I have says it denotes an Arab or Arabia.
Gesenius...on the word MIXED...
How can Rome be represented by 'iron and clay' when what is said about it doesn't describe the Romans, but perfectly describes the Arabs?
http://www.blacksheepprophecies.com/iron-and-clay.html
Rome is the iron and clay like falafel is French. The iron and clay are the end-time Arabic people namely the Sunni (iron) and Shia(clay) sects of Islam.
Rome and the EU are UNITED and have strong alliances.
And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron,
the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.
And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.
And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.
How is Rome and the EU divided, partly strong and partly broken? How is Rome and the EU, "not cleaved to one another." Rome and the EU have quite strong alliances! The Arabs have brittle alliances and are know for breaking treaties with one another! Daniel says more about the iron and clay than anything else on the statue so we have a good description of it. Yet, you can't see, or don't want to see, that Rome and Europe just doesn't fit this prophecy! We've been through this before!
Besides being divided, the toes of iron and clay of the fourth kingdom are said to subdue all things, break in pieces, and BRUISE, be divided and "not cleave to one another", and mixed with the seed of men, partly strong, and partly broken.
A perfect description of all Muslims. How do the Europeans fit that description? The Arabs, Iranians, and Muslim's have destroyed the region of the Middle-East and subdued nearly every religion in the region. How can that be applied to Rome or the EU?
How are the Romans and Europeans intermarried? (mixed with the seed of men) The Arabs are the most intermarried people in the world!
And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and
subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.
Daniel 7 isn't a historical repeat of chapter 2. Why would God find it necessary to repeat any vision by the same author? Why repeat the same sequence of kingdoms of Daniel 2 in chapter 7? Were there shortcomings in Daniel 2 that required repetition? Interpreters say that the Lion of Daniel 7 is Babylon.
Daniel 7...
How can Daniel prophesy about a kingdom RISING (Babylon) when that kingdom (Babylon) had ALREADY risen some 50 years before? Daniel chapter 7 was written about 35 years after Daniel's vision of the great statue in chapter 2.
Daniel 7 was written in the first year of Belshazzar who was the last king of Babylon. In other words, Babylon was on its way out when Daniel prophesied about these four kingdoms RISING! A prophet CANNOT prophesy about a kingdom RISING that HAD RISEN some 50 years before AND NOT BE DEEMED A FALSE PROPHET! Atheist Kyle Williams knows that but Christians JUST DON'T CARE! Williams uses your interpretation to debunk Daniel as a true prophet and the Word of God as well. But Christians just don't care!
The vision of Daniel's four beast in chapter 7 are figurative of 4 end time kingdoms competing to dominate the region around the Mediterranean. The word before in 7:7 says that this beast "was diverse from all the beasts that were
before it; and it had ten horns."
The Hebrew word for "before" in this text is ‘qodam’ which means "in front of, in the presence of, not "historically before" as is commonly interpreted. This means the first three empires will be in the presence of (or stand before) the anti-Christ kingdom when it emerges. They are all end-time kingdoms.
