Having trouble sleeping? Welcome to the insomniac lounge.

Cozy up by the fire, drink some tea, make small talk, count sheep. Relax. :blueheart:

Tea?! If you drink tea, no wonder you can't sleep. It's full of caffeine. You need instead one of two things: either something to help you relax and get to sleep, in which case I recommend one of Charlotte's videos (see my thread from 2 days ago: ASMR Angel
or, if you are wide awake and want something to divert your mind, Bach's Goldberg Variations. According to legend, at least, now thought questionable, these were written for a nobleman who had chronic insomnia due to a medical condition:

They were written for the harpsichord but if you find the sound of that gets on your nerves (I don't, but then I like Baroque music), there are many, many piano performances.

Okay, so in the centre of the Universe, it is currently 12.30am, Thursday morning.
I need to be up and getting ready for work at 5.00am.

By my reckoning, that allows me 4 and a half hours of beauty sleep.
My question to you all, then, is how do I stay so damn beautiful with so little sleep?
(I'm averaging less than 5 hours a night for the last week)

I've always averaged 5 to 5.5 hours beauty sleep a night since being a youngster. Shhhh, don't tell anyone, that is the secret to beauty success

We have caffeine free varieties here in the States. ;)

Harpsichord has to be one of the most obnoxious sounding instruments possible lol. :p

I sleep during the day, to work nights. Yesterday i got enough sleep, though today It doesn't seem like it. No, I'd say probably not, but I feel awake anyway. Not much to say at the moment

What do you do for a living?

I am a material handler/forklift driver, with some mechanic stuff thrown in. It's a job with a lot of movement and variety in it, so it's never dull.

Kind of bracing myself now, because one of the main mechanics wants me to do overtime. But I know that he just wants me there for backup, and there probably won't be much for me to do. It's kind of nice to sleep nights on the weekend, but I guess maybe they sort of see that as me 'getting away with something.' There are a thousand things I'd rather do, and my coworkers can be stressful to be around sometimes. Paging me to go across the whole long building, just to see that nothing's wrong.. that can get old. But whatever, I'll just do it

I'd kind of rather talk about anything else to be honest

....can't sleep...:disappointed::tired::persevere:

Anyone else in the same boat?

I can't sleep, though not really trying, it's only lunch time.

In the words of someone... Close your eyes and think of England...

Though I don't think that was about insomnia.
