Indifference to one's own religion

what do you think of this attitude of indifference that some have to their own religion?

One of the reason many are indifferent towards their religion is because they don't really believe in it or don't see any practical value to it.

Jesus used harsh words to those that showed indifference towards their worship "So because you are lukewarm and neither hot nor cold, I am going to vomit you out of my mouth".(Rev 3:16)

It seems that if one's religion is acceptable to God then it is important, and should not be viewed nonchalantly.
The Bible encourages us to "make sure of all things, hold fast to what is fine" (1Thess 5:21)
