Don't hire a gardener to do the fun stuff for you.
Just do what I did....kill a whole bunch'o plants for years,
& eventually they stop dying, & some even mature nicely.
Then you have to start changing things around.
Nothing is ever quite right...nothing is ever finished.

I see we had the exact same horticultural education. Perhaps a moment of silence for all the fallen/mulched plants that couldn't still be with us?

I do like this, but is that a dead child in the centre of image 11?
I was wondering what that was myself. I tried zooming in, but it didn't help.

Though I am an avowed atheist, no, it is not a dead child or baby.

It is a wooden maid with a watering can on a metal peg that is stuck in the ground. Alas, I haven't seen her in ages, so my guess is she was swept away during the winter one year during one of the great wind storms.
